I played rugby, way harsher injuries than 99% of sports but football is a cu nt for ankle injuries and getting taken out at full speed. My body is covered in scars and I've broken a lot of bones and torn a lot of tendons, ligaments and muscles but I know what hurts and a kick to the shin with the toes will have you limping for a while.

Not saying diving in football isn't farcical but if you had a clue (and eyes) Honduras were being filthy kicking the French players, hacking ankles and body checking them (doesn't hurt in football but stops you controlling ball).

Yes....Honduras was rough today, in a soccer context. But France should have been 5 goals better and given some of that type of play right back.

There were a number of replays today where guys were flopping around like fish out of water and there hadn't even been any contact. It cheapens a great game/sport

I thought last WC FIFA said they were going to start cracking down on it but maybe I'm thinking of the NBA.

I agree. Diving should be retrospectively punished it makes the game.look a joke at times. Worse.still kids at underage.emulate it. Honduras were dicks though. Pallacios.plays.for.stok e .they are responsible.for some horrific injuries in pl. Watch ramsey leg breakif you want. Fucking.horrible.

Fucking horrible but to show the effect of tackles on ankles:

Both compound fractures on players from same team in same league in recent years. Hundreds of others could be posted from tackles that superficially don't look horrible.

My bad injury was some fat girl falling on my ankle when I scored a try from a maul in rugby. Broke ankle (bones separated), tore achilles, tore calf muscle and ligaments in ankle. Had ankle broken once playing football when 9 but don't remember it so doesn't matter  ;D Only thing I remember is getting lots of easter eggs so I was happy.

Argentina coach should be shot for playing 5-3-2 v Bosnia ffs. Same formation Sunderland played v Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea. Embarrassing.

PS Ghana

The Japanese fans are pretty weird..

 Japanese fans are really cool.

Football fans may have a reputation for trashing stadiums after losing big matches. But Japan supporters at the World Cup took defeat to the Ivory Coast in good spirits and consoled themselves by cleaning up their end of the stadium.

These pictures shouldn’t have to be described as ‘incredible’ or ‘surprising’, but it’s a rare sight in the modern game – although not in Japan where fans regularly clear up after themselves both home and away.

And their side may have given up an early lead to suffer a 2-1 defeat in their opening Group C match at this summer’s World Cup, but Japan fans still found time to pick up their litter at the Arena Pernambuco in Recife.

 The Team apologise for losing.

Thanks for posting that Gracie, hadn't heard about it or seen pics, media in this part of the world is obsessed with fat Wayne. Good to see some classy fans, gonna support them for their next couple of games. They should beat Greece if Greece are as shit as they were against Columbia; Columbia could be on 6 points when they meet in last group game and take their foot off the pedal if results go their way.

Germany v Portugal is today, gonna be on at 1pm or so local time in blistering heat and humidity, hoping for a good game and for Ronaldo to do some scoring, couldn't care less who wins as long as it is good to watch.

The Japanese have great values, apart from their 'scientific' whaling..

Better than Wolfe:

Nearly 13 hours without a match, 2 hours to go, getting withdrawal symptoms.

It was 35C in Germany last week with storms, they didn't need to travel to acclimatise  ;D

The Germans play a high tempo game in general, you saw how that tired England out and that match was played later in the day. Put that five quid on Portugal, will have to google the camel for future advices if bet comes good.
