Piss Jug for long road trips....

Seriously, I use some for coin storage, storage of nuts, screws, bolts, and other hardware. Also they work well as dunk tanks for other messy projects like paint stripping or rust stripping small parts.

I also gave a bunch of the fancier ones to my mom for food storage.

A mate of mine instead of using up loads of tissues used to shoot his muck in a pot he kept under his bed, it would be ideal for that.
Otherwise I just kept nuts and bolts in them

Yes, generally I frown on the recreational pissing of another garments. I make a full exception in his instance.

If you have a crafter in the family, they could probably use
Pet food
Bird seed
Donate to a daycare for their little toys like legos
Might make a cool night light for a kid on a camping trip or something by putting a glow stick in it.  Weight it down with a few rocks or sand inside.
Fishing bait
Keep toilet paper dry for a camping trip
Used coffee grounds for the garden
Make big hunks of ice
