Good find TA!
I was very impressed with the posts both on this board and in other places I read which criticized Jerry Farwell. He was an offensive and prejudice person pretending to act under the guise of peace and kindness. It made me realize that there are more thinkers out there than I once thought!
Well he's dead now.
The reason he had such a huge following was because a huge demographic of America felt how he felt. Let's face it, the same crowd that followed Farwell (christian right), are the same ones supporting Bush and itching to invade Iran. They're the same ones who refuse to accept a secular state and don't a respect a woman's right to choose, etc.
His audience and supporers were stupid drones who couldn't comprehend their own thoughts and ideals, so they looked to a fat preacher. Sound familiar?
