But, I did watch "The Conjuring" last night.

Thought it was pretty good for modern horror, except the lame exorcism.

I've personally experienced demonic oppression, know pastors that have witnessed demonic possession and know very well that the greatest strategy in spiritual warfare is convincing others of the nonexistence of all of it.

If I were to ensure no one could ever objectively prove I existed it would provide a good cover for non-existence. Said another way, the people who made up the devil built in a nice little loophole as denying his existence, is then said to be evidence for his existence, ie convincing others he doesn't exist is his greatest trick.

It's such an obvious brain washing tactic just like faith.

Have you humbled yourself completely before God in prayer desiring to surrender to his will for your life and even asked that he reveal himself to you?

Have you come to the Lord God according to his terms and not your own desiring to enter into a relationship with him?

It wasn't bad...I just didn't find it compelling either. The character development on the mother was weak. Too many children made it hard to relate to any one child in the movie.

The protagonists (the clairvoyant and her husband) were likable, but not engaging or enthralling.

The husband of the wife who was possessed seemed more milquetoast than anything, but I suppose it's hard to have two strong male leads in a movie.

And then they didn't dive deep enough into the back story on the reason for "demonic possession" on the property. It glazed over that too quickly, in my mind.

And yes, the Hollywood ending to the exorcism was a little saccharin. But I expected that, and Hollywood did not disappoint.

There are far worse horror movies out there, to be sure. It could have been far worse.

I guess I just expected better, based on internet hype about the flick.

Shit movie. You should check out The Devil Inside (2012). It's not bad.
