Does fewer bodybuilding shows = a win for the fans?

Dan and Bob mentioned that 4 of the competitors at the Phoenix Pro show were on the Mr Olympia stage just 4 months ago.

Names include Troy Alves, Melvin Anthony, Quincy Taylor, Hidetada, Toney Freeman, etc...

While fewer shows mean less cities offering shows to fans... does it mean the shows that do happen are a lot better?  Would we rather see 8 awesome shows each year, or 22 crappy shows each year?

I prefer to see only a few shows a year. Most of the shows with a city name involved are usually for the most part uneventful.

Bodybuilding needs are 10 shows and a point system that rewards consistency over a period of time. Something similar to Nascar's championship series.

This would allow for people like Alves, Hide and others a chance to win something and be rewarded for their hard work.  Let the mass monsters have The O and Arnold. But with this system you are rewarding consistency and perhaps increasing competition.

1st = 50K
2nd = 25K
3rd = 10K
4th = 5K

And you would have more deaths because of the extreme conditioning BB's have to come in these days to place in the top 5 at any competition... WE are now in a an era of scrutinized perfection. If you give them more influence to come in shredded 5 or more times a year you will see alot more deaths....
