well you somehow are screwing it up
So odd-I've eaten natural pb all my life and have never had that issue
I've used a spoon or a butter knife until I bought that stirrer thing
As someone else mentioned the spoon (or fork or knife) tends to splash the oil around and often out of the jar and you don't get as good of a consistency (at least I don't) Especially true for natural almond butter which can be like half dried cement.
