pain in upper thigh (sartorius?). calling out experts
« on: April 07, 2014, 04:49:24 PM »
(Mods can move this to the training forum. just posting it here for now cuz people hardly post there)

I've had a nagging pain in my upper thigh, right where it meets the pelvis in the middle, for 2-3 weeks now. I can't get rid of it with foam rolling or dynamic stretching.

Any ideas on how I can get rid of it? It takes me many many warmups to get comfortable squatting. Should I lay off of squatting for a while?

Thanks for your advice in advance!

Also; Your pelvis might have an anterior tilt (or less likely, tilted back)

Have you worked on your glute mobility (no homo)? I have APT and it affects all my leg training. But I have found that vigorous rolling of my glutes with a lacrosse ball (Christ, no homo again) really helps with everything.

haha. I do foam roll stretches prior, quads/hams/glutes included. I'll have to look into the lacrosse ball idea, get that deep tissue massage no homo.

Common sense dictates you layoff training legs until it heals.

boom.

update:
it's healing. sticking to single leg movements for a while. Last time I tried to squat 3-4 weeks ago the pain instantly came back. Doing db lunges for now, will slowly work back upto heavier single leg squatting.

Thanks for ALL the help!  ::)  ;D
