It's a very strange western thing to not have respect for the dead (of course it doesn't speak for all, but this kind of sentiment is more widespread in the west than in the east). I've been living here for 10+ years and the callousness of some people still shocks me.
Why, will they rise up as ghosts and haunt our asses? Were their lives something special? Hell, when
I die, I don't give two craps if someone has a laugh at my expense.
This whole all-human-life-is-so-precious nonsense is beyond lame. It's a construct of religion, mostly.
We live, we die ... move on.
