How big are you guys? My friends are all around 220-260, and the 1000's still fly them around. I'm smaller 5'10 between 190-200 and find them a little heavy sometimes?
any newer 1000 is not heavy like the bikes of the 90's.  They are basically 600 sized chassis' with tons of HP.

I started with a Honda 600f4

A lot of those still on the road.  They can take a ton of abuse.  A lot of stunt riders chose that bike.  Plus it has very predictable power.  My zx6rr has 2 fuel injectors per cylinder from 8500-17000 rpm it's a beast.  Kind of reminds me of the powerband on a two stroke dirtbike.  Most fun I've everhad on a 6.  Miss the torque and top end of my liter bike, but the 6 is fun for the track.  I'll have another liter bike to soon enough in the garage.

He was going 125, not 225. I see little or no danger here. Next time, roll that wrist a little farther.

hahahahaha..... I hear ya.  I hit more 125+ while merging on the on ramps not even winding out 2nd.  I don't know how long he's been riding.  He seems like he pushing his comfort zone.  Give him a month and he'll be looking for a new bike.  Happens to all of us.  We want something mild, then we want something that scares the shit out of us.

I got the 600f4 for cheap,,had it rebuilt and repainted..new full exhaust,,came out nice.  Then smash,,run over.  Got more than I paid for it in the end..so not a bad deal.. ;)

Very true.  The new CRB is 40lbs heavier than my 6 and has almost double the HP.  The new literbikes are sick.  They are all fast, personal preference is what it comes down to.

if i go with a ducati im not buying a new one. just not spending that kind of money on a toy.

I hear ya.  I like em but have a fundamental problem spending 18g's on a bike that would get dusted by the current 600 class.

naw i already have an r1... the 125 run was just to test the camera mount.. obviously i had to adjust it for my second video.. in the second i hit 140 which is more then enough considering its my 2nd day out for the year and it was 28 degrees out.. plus im on an unfamiliar highway full of state police..

ill be hitting 180 once my other bike is out.

but im very experianced,,been riding since i was 18

I just don't understand..
I would rather have a skyline for 40g than a mercedez. Fun Factor.
I would be too scared to wreck my bike going fast if it cost 50gs...
Stick with my Honda,,crash it and buy 5 more for the price of the ducati...

No offense ,but 125mph in a crotch rocket is nothing to brag about.

I agree.. i got pulled over doing 110mph in a beat up chevy pickup once... if I was on a bike.. I would not have been pulled over at all  :)

i guess you control the person who pulls out in front of you while going 125mph?

unless youre on a track with leathers on...there is no reason to go that fast. no one cares if you die....just dont hit anyone i know and put them in danger

i changed my bet.....dead in 4 months

Great post from the big man.

Ever had a Ducati? that's like saying, I'd rather have the GT-R than the Ferrari 599 GTB. It goes almost as fast 0-60 ( 3.3 vs. 3.2), yet the GT-R breaks it's tranny if you use launch control, which is provided, yet you're not suppose to use. The 599, doesn't have that problem.

Or would you rather have a stock Skyline GT-r, that basically sucks, or a stock Mercedes SL65 Black series. Pick your poison, mild or wild.
