The guy driving in the Range Rover found himself in hell after getting off that highway.
For those that know NYC, he exited the Henry Hudson on 178th street (GW bridge) and Riverside going towards Broadway, St. Nick and then closing in on Amsterdam. He found himself in the heart of Washington Heights with over 50-something bikers that were probably a combination of Blacks and Hispanics. If they decided to kill the guy afterwards, very little would have been said or done around those parts, as the people tend to stay shut when it's an issue involving whites (person most likely driving the Rover) and folks of color (just about everyone in that neighborhood and possibly on those bikes), not to mention that cops around there tend to not patrol as much as they should.
Crazy that things like that still occur. It was wrong on the driver's part, but those bikers are all over New York City and they can be very annoying.

A despicable French mom who held her 4-year-old son down so he could be raped by his step-dad in a prison visiting room has been sentenced for 20 years.
Sabrina Bonner, 25, blindfolded the young boy during several visits to the Toul detention center between 2009 and 2010 so partner Lionel Barthelemy, 31, could have sex with him.
The sick couple, who had a "sado-masochist relationship," pinned black trash bags against the windows so no-one could look in.
They also filmed the vile scenes on a cellphone — which Barthelemy, imprisoned for violence since August 2009 — kept so he could watch while alone in his cell.
Bonner gave herself up to cops in May 2011 just before Barthelemy was due to be released from prison, reports The Local.
Both Bonner and Barthelemy confessed to multiple counts of rape and sexual assault of the boy, who is now 8, at a court in Strasbourg this week.
A judge sentenced each of them to 20 years.
Yannick Pheulpin, the boy's lawyer, said he would now be launching legal action against the prison to account for the suffering of the child.

And PG County, MD (Prince George's County) is well known for it's "Ryders". 495 around Washington, I-97, I-95, 295, and 50 you will commonly see 30-50 Sport Bike riders zooming by, and popping wheelies...and maxing out their bikes. Oh, and fatalities...but this is odd right here.

And PG County, MD (Prince George's County) is well known for it's "Ryders". 495 around Washington, I-97, I-95, 295, and 50 you will commonly see 30-50 Sport Bike riders zooming by, and popping wheelies...and maxing out their bikes. Oh, and fatalities...but this is odd right here.
I am not surprised that similar phenomenon is seen all around.
This city (NYC) never seizes to amaze me with all it's stupidity. Sometimes, I ride my bike around local city neighborhoods and the number of times I've heard "tough" guys scream obscenities from their cars at me (faggator, dirty Jew, sissy etc.) just because I ride my bike the proper way (adhering to the laws of the road - helmet, pads, making turn signals with hand and at a normal speed) is insane.
That's New York City though. You take the good with the bad..

So the morale to your story is that if you find yourself in the middle of a group motorcycle ride it's okay to run over them because you're scared of motorcycle riders? How is you life endangered because you are riding by motorcycles? They chased him because he hit one of them. Then he deliberately hit some more.

Nonsense, they surrounded the car and the guy in front braked with only a few feet, of course he was going to hit him. Driver did the right thing running over the idiots bike. He was in fear for his life, if he had a gun he would be justified in using it.

The police are looking for these punks and have not charged the driver. Makes sense that a guy with his wife and kid, driving an expensive vehicle would intentionally tangle with 100 or so bikers. ::)

from what i've read, the police didn't charge the Range Rover guy...No doubt his life was in jeopardy before he ran over the bikes. He did what most people would have done. Too bad he didn't have a gun and start blasting anyone who came at him.

The video shows the bikers driving recklessly even before the Range Rover guy feared for his life and took off. Bikers caused the accident and no doubt when the range rover first hit the bike, he was surrounded and feared for his life. Bikers really left him no option...

Don't know for sure, but here are some clues:
UPDATE: Reader 505Turbeaux claims to have been on the road with this group of bikers and reports that they were riding like squids before the video began.
I saw these guys yesterday, the bikers, and what a pack of assholes they were. Splitting lanes on the highway at speed (70mph between 2 cars), cutting people off. They had me boxed in so I couldn't get out of an exit only lane so they could get off. Not saying they deserve to be hit, but they had it coming.
I had my blinker on and was handsignalling I needed to get out of the exit only lane. everyone kept passing on the left to cut me off in front of the exit, 4-5 of them flipped me off. I tried rolling slow but they had no inkling of how to ride well. I ride myself, and this was just heinous.
UPDATE TWO: The New York Times published an article on the incident and they revealed three new pieces of information.
The first motorcycle rider hit by the Range Rover got a broken leg (this is the only motorcycle injury the police have information on).
The Range Rover driver has been released from the hospital with lacerations to his face and other bruises.
The Range Rover driver was not charged by the police.
UPDATE THREE: The New York Post now reports that the driver was 33-year-old Alexian Lien, who did call 911 on the riders at 1:30 yesterday.

I get nothing from that except the driver called 911 at some point in time. Before or after he ran over the first guy? If he had his family in the car why not just give the bikes the right of way instead of endangering his wife and kid? As far as splitting lanes making someone an asshole......that's just silly. :D

Oh please, the biker stoped in front of the car TOTALLY on purpose, its obvious. Once a biker did exactly the same to me for something totally frivolous. Only I stopped and got out of the car and started a verbal confrontation with him. Then suddently a dozen other bikers appeared out of nowhere to team up with him. I was like... fuck, lol

NEW YORK (AP) — A man driving with his family along a New York City highway was attacked by a group of motorcyclists who chased his SUV for more than 50 blocks after it bumped into one of the bikes, which had stopped suddenly, police said.
The assault on the 33-year-old man began around 1:30 p.m. Sunday on the West Side Highway after he got into an accident with one of the bikers around 125th Street. After the driver and motorcyclist pulled over, they were quickly surrounded by 20 to 30 bikers who began damaging the victim's Range Rover, police said.
The driver, who was traveling with his wife and toddler, struck two other bikers while fleeing, police said. The other bikers gave chase, pursuing him for about 2 1/2 miles, and again surrounded the vehicle. They pulled the man from the SUV and beat him, police said.
The man was taken to a hospital where he required stitches to his face. His wife and child were not injured. The man was not charged.
On Tuesday, police arrested the biker who was involved in the initial accident. Christopher Cruz, 28, was charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving, endangering the welfare of a child and menacing. He was not injured in the accident.
Police said another biker suffered two broken legs after the SUV ran over him. A second biker suffered a leg injury.
Police believe some of the bikers belong to a gang known as Hollywood Stuntz. They said the motorcyclists were part of a planned but unauthorized event in which hundreds of riders gathered outside of Manhattan, with the intent of driving into Times Square en masse.

PG county had a couple of bikers related fatalities this summer and there is nothing they can do about these bikers sometime...last summer, a PG county cop on 495 took off and start chasing a biker doing over 100mph and the cop lost control of his cruiser and slam into a Utility pole and died on impact.....since then, they told these cops not to chase these guys...it just put the rest of these motorists at risk

On first thought I assumed the range river was in the wrong, but you can see the cyclists started it, the rider in the jeans and leather waistcoat was deliberately slowing down in front of him, and breaked suddenly to try and fuck with the range rover, but got hit as a result.They all then surround his car and started to kick it and intimidate him so he is scared for his life and drives off.He'll get off as the video shows this to be true.the fact they actually smashed the windows of the car with his kid in the back then beat him in front of his wife and the kid only back up to the court what they would have likely done earlier.The fact they caught him in a busy part of the city likely saved his life.

Staten Island has a mix of African Americans, Italians and Irish. Whereas Manhattan is dependent upon the neighborhood which you find yourself in. In Manhattan, north of 110th street it is mostly Hispanics and African Americans. South of 110th street, you have Italians, Irish, Eastern Europeans, African Americans, Asians, Arabs and a decent population of Jews.

Just stop him? And after the reasonable motorcycle enthusiasts stopped him, what else were they going to do? Oh, you don't know? Neither did the driver of the SUV. What he did know was that people were trying to get at him (opening his door, trying to break his window.) He was in a life-threatening situation and is fortunate to have lived through it. Driver acted reasonably, imo.

As a biker of 35 years I have full sympathy for the guy in the Range Rover.
Some of these facebook posts on the "Justice for Jay Meezee" facebook page lack compassion for the poor biker who was run over for being a bullying wee arsehole.
I'm really glad that Jay Meezee will never walk again. He and the rest of his shithead "gang" decided to harass an innocent man and his wife and daughter, then slam on their brakes immediately in front of him. I know, I saw the video. If there was a record of these bikers having a history of violent confrontations the media would have been all over it, but there isn't because most people just let these assholes do their thing and avoid them. I dont think the driver of the SUV was trying to be a badass. He was break checked by one of the bikers and hit him and when they swarmed him he panicked. The bikers weren't intending to exchange insurance info when they approach the car. The bikers could have easily let the SUV pass.

Next they pick out high end vehicles targeting people with families in them, the targets will usually be white or Asian. Then one of the riders will do a " brake check" and stop suddenly in front of the target vehicle causing a minor bump. In some cases they will just roll back into their target vehicle . They will then mob the vehicle demanding money and or begin attacking the person inside. It is their practice to also slash the tires to prevent the vehicle from escaping. Truckers are well aware of them and are advised not to stop.

The guy driving in the Range Rover found himself in hell after getting off that highway.
For those that know NYC, he exited the Henry Hudson on 178th street (GW bridge) and Riverside going towards Broadway, St. Nick and then closing in on Amsterdam. He found himself in the heart of Washington Heights with over 50-something bikers that were probably a combination of Blacks and Hispanics. If they decided to kill the guy afterwards, very little would have been said or done around those parts, as the people tend to stay shut when it's an issue involving whites (person most likely driving the Rover) and folks of color (just about everyone in that neighborhood and possibly on those bikes), not to mention that cops around there tend to not patrol as much as they should.
Crazy that things like that still occur. It was wrong on the driver's part, but those bikers are all over New York City and they can be very annoying.

New York City newspapers are reporting that there were at least two and as many as five off-duty NYPD police officers among the motorcyclists riding with the pack that chased and beat Range Rover driver Alexian Lien after he rear-ended a sportbike rider who appears, in the videos of the incident, to have brake checked the SUV.
Lien drove away, hitting other motorcyclists, prompting the chase. The Daily News and the New York Post reported that an undercover officer participating in the ride observed the altercation but did not intervene and stop the beating for fear of losing his cover. He also did not call 911 to report the beating. ABC News reported that the detective works in narcotics enforcement. The newspapers’ sources say that the detective belongs to a motorcycle club called Front Line Soldiers whose membership includes other NYPD cops and that he was on the ride in a private capacity, not conducting an investigation at the time. While he did tell the NYPD that he was present, he only came forward after videos of the event started circulating, contacting superiors on Wednesday following the Sunday incident. News reports say that that the undercover detective has retained an attorney, though they don’t indicate if the lawyer was privately retained or hired by the Patrolman’s Benevolent Association, the labor union representing NYPD officers. He is reportedly the subject of an internal affairs investigation.
The New York Post reported about the detective’s affiliation with the Front Line Soldiers M/C and the Daily News said that according to its sources in addition to the undercover narcotics officer and another off-duty cop, there were possibly two or three more police officers among the estimated 20 to 30 motorcyclists on the Henry Hudson Parkway when riders tried to slow traffic, apparently so they could perform stunts.
Lien’s SUV bumped one rider who slowed suddenly in front of his car and when he accelerated to escape the pack of riders he hit several, seriously injuring Edwin “Jay” Mieses, who has since retained celebrity lawyer Gloria Aldred. Several of the bikers chased the Liens’ car for four miles, eventually catching up to him in Washington Heights when Lien got caught in Manhattan traffic. The motorcyclists smashed the Range Rover’s windows, pulled Lien from the car and beat him severely as his wife and child watched.
The undercover NYPD detective and the possible presence of other NYPD officers on the ride and their failure to report or stop the beating are being investigated by the department’s Internal Affairs bureau. In addition to the failure to intervene or even report the incident, there is the additional matter of the officers participating in a mass ride that involved numerous traffic violations including stunting on public roads. After a similar ride a year ago snarled traffic, the NYPD had made efforts this year to prevent a mass gathering of motorcyclists in Times Square, said by some to be one reason why the pack of riders were on the Henry Hudson Pkwy at the time of the altercation.

There are millions of people who ride that follow the law and are afforded extra caution because they don't have doors or bumpers, and small fender-bender accidents can cause great injury or death.
Then there are packs of kids driving 100 mph in public roads, completely ignoring lanes and speed limits, and screaming like victims when people don't pull over so they can dominate the road. Seriously, there should be WAY more tickets given out for illegal lane violations, passing, etc.

An off-duty undercover New York City cop was officially charged today for alleged his role in the assault of an SUV driver while the police detective was part of a group motorcycle ride.
Undercover narcotics officer Wojciech Braszczok, 32, was charged with gang assault, assault and criminal mischief in connection with the attack on SUV driver Alexian Lien on Sept. 29. Those charges include felonies -- upgraded from the initial misdemeanor charges of riot and criminal mischief announced by authorities when he was arrested Tuesday.
Braszczok's attorney John Arlia called the gang assault charge an "absolute overcharge" and said there's no evidence the detective knew the other bikers. The riders are a loosely knit group that arranges rides via the Internet, Arlia said.
During his appearance in Manhattan's criminal court, Braszczok wore army fatigues and a black hooded sweatshirt. He stood motionless as the charges were read.
Braszczok initially told his superiors days after the incident that he saw the attack but did not stop it for fear of blowing his cover, police said. But video captured at the scene revealed that he actually participated by smashing the back window of Lien's Range Rover, law enforcement sources said.
Braszczok's attorney said his client is accused of breaking "what was already broken." There was a "gaping softball [sized] hole" in the window that the detective is accused of breaking, Arlia said during the court appearance.
While Braszczok is not accused of directly assaulting Lien, prosecutors said he terrorized the driver's family. He was captured on video kicking the passenger-side rear door multiple times where, prosecutors pointed out, Lien's 2-year-old daughter was in the back seat.
Braszczok is the latest in a string of arrests connected to the incident. Five other motorcyclists have been charged, and police say they are continuing to search for suspects.
The melee began around 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29, when Lien, who was driving on the highway with his wife and 2-year-old daughter on an outing to celebrate the couple's wedding anniversary, tapped the back of a motorcycle that cut in front of him and slowed down, police said. The rest of the bikers then closed in on him, prompting Lien to speed off, hitting three bikers as he accelerated away from the group, according to the NYPD.
The group chased Lien and then pulled him from his car and beat him, cops said.
Police released photos of additional suspects to the public on Tuesday.
Braszczok is being held on $100,000 cash bail or $150,000 bond. He is a 10-year veteran of the NYPD, according to a law enforcement source. He is an undercover detective who spent much of his police career in narcotics but recently transferred to another division, the source said.
Investigators believe that while Braszczok was one of three cops on the ride in the general area of the attack, he was the closest to the beating and the only one to have a clear view of what was happening, a law enforcement source said. They believe another detective was further away from the attack and a third, an officer, was "in the way back" of the motorcycle pack, the source said.
The other two officers' conduct was being probed, but investigators said they were not expected to face criminal charges, the source added.
Internal Affairs had been reviewing Braszczok's former narcotics cases as charges against him were being contemplated, the source added.
