So exercise is also bad for the kidneys?
Muscle mass and heavy exercise increased the amount of waste of protein byproduct, that has to be filtered through the kidney.  Hence, the additional stress on the failing kidney.

Well, if he told the truth or not, at least Tom was willing to do the interview.

Never fails - these BB types cannot stop lying no matter what.

Tom starts by saying hes 185...at 5-8"...looks like a coathanger under a shirt with a head

making big money in apt management...dosent have all his teeth....

Moves on to actually claim he only used a little test etc...and was walking around at 310 because of "training"

Cant make the link to kidney damage to the gear and life...blaming mystery blood conditions...

Just outright horseshit, even totally removed and sworn off it all cant tell the truth.

PS - put on the 2020 deadpool

It's hard to see where he could weigh 185 lbs. @ 68" tall. I'm a couple of inches taller and 10 pounds lighter and yet I look bigger. Maybe he looks different in person.

His internal organs may be oversized due to the years of GH usage. That may account for him weighing more than he appears to weigh.

Maybe his legs are swollen as well.

If this is true, this cycle would have had very litte effect in his kidneys. The GH listed is about the average run give or take.

It's more than coincidental that bodybuilders have such a high incidence of kidney failure. Could it be that carrying around all that weight results in high blood pressure, which is very hard on one's kidneys. Diabetes is another common cause of kidney disease.

If folks did their labs on a regular basis, at least once a year, they might be forewarned of the onset of chronic kidney disease and could make adjustments accordingly. Even if you get your gear illegally, you should have regular physicals and labs. What you tell your doctor is supposed to be confidential.

Medical ethics rules, state laws, and the federal law known as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), generally require doctors and their staff to keep patients' medical records confidential unless the patient allows the doctor's office to disclose them.

They are not dose specific in the study but conclude;

The dramatic improvement in renal parameters (including complete remission of proteinuria) achieved by stopping AASs, decreasing exercise, losing weight, and renin-angiotensin system (RAS) blockade, without resorting to immunosuppressive therapy, followed by relapse of nephrotic-range proteinuria and worsening of renal function after resumption of a full bodybuilding regimen strongly supports a secondary form of FSGS. We propose that abuse of AASs causes a secondary form of FSGS both by increasing lean body mass and by potential direct toxic effects on glomeruli.[/I]

So they include the weight gain from the drugs as a cause along with protein intake. It's a great bodybuilding specific study including biopsies as proof.

This is solid information.

Probably the best thing you can do is keep track of your blood pressure regularly. The kidneys start swelling when something is wrong and blood pressure tracks it pretty well. And for practically pennies you can buy urine test strips that measure a lot of metabolites that are early warning indicators of kidney malfunctioning. None of these replace a doctor or full workup of course  but they are very useful in monitoring your health.

Good advice. Unfortunately some people who need it will ignore it.

It really is a great study and one of the few with actual bodybuilders and biopsies to back up conclusions.

They also complied an excellent reference list/bibliography of studies to include just AAS and its direct effect on glomeruli.

They don't want to know the truth.  Knowing would shatter the illusion.

Bodybuilding is unreality.

that study about secondary fsgs is good!

the fact that the bber went back ON after full recovery was to be expected:
low self esteem and libido related issues

more importantly=

"if I can go from kidney failure to full recovery just by discontinuing the regimen, i have nothing to fear and I can blast it up again until next time"

Most roid users are totally delusional as to how much the drugs actually help.  It's just the 5% finishing touch. ::)

Markus Ruhl still going strong. As well as Louie Simmons been juicing for 50 years plus. Those pain killers will do it to you, throw in some strong diuretics and boom there goes the kidneys.

Bodybuilders utilize multiple ways to ruin their bodies.

Totally worth it.

You can still be productive with your time spent in dialysis by doing work on your laptop.
