Happy Easter! Wife made a turkey with all the extras like Thanks giving but she also made a seafood risotto. It had shrimp, clams and scallops in it. Three different cakes.

Trained legs today:

Squats 3 x 9 up to 255lbs (getting back into the groove of these and doing them deeper)
leg press 2 x 12
leg extensions 2 x 12
standing leg curls 2 x 12

Standing calf 2 x 12
Seated calf 2 x 15 95lbs

Ab coaster 2 x 27 40lbs
Seated ab crunches 2 x 20

4 way neck machine 2 x 15

Gym Observations:

Watched a guy doing deadlifts. Started with 225 then 315lb, 405lbs, and at  495lbs I had to leave.  He seemed to have plenty in the  tank. Wonder what his final set was? Strong guy.

Saw a guy doing incline dumbbell benches. He actually went all the way down instead of doing half reps with a huge weight.  Damn rare thing now a days.

Owner explained to me he lets friends have a key for late night work outs when the place is closed and he believes they leave the place a mess.

Training my calves for over 40 years and I still have calves that Wolf would laugh at.

Dorian Yates once said "If you want to build half a chest, do half a rep".  Some turd at the gym told me the other day his bench is up to 405 for reps.  I then saw him doing 1/4 rep flat benches with 275 and someones hands on the bar.  Sickens me.

Happy belated Easter to you all.

I've been working out at home mostly because things have been hectic around here. It's not the same or maybe even as good as hitting the gym, but it's better than doing nothing at all.

Easter Sunday was busy around here. I took my daughter, son-in-law and grandson out to breakfast. Later, I drove to Salem to see if I could get my sister's computer running better and to take her out to dinner for Easter. All in all, it was a great day.

I'd planned to hit the gym this afternoon. However, I got hung up doing my taxes and missed the window of time I had available for the gym. The meeting I went to tonight lasted until 9:00 p.m. which rendered working out at the gym something of a challenge, plus I was tired.

I may try and combine arms and hams in one workout tomorrow to catch up. This should be interesting.

Been hitting the cardio fairly hard recently and my Full Body workouts. I went for a long Cycle yesterday after the weights and got soaked to the skin. One minute we have sun then the next rain. Today is a rest Day. Rest Days i just go by Feel. If i need two days off iŽll take them. Nothing is carved in stone...

Last night I pulled a double workout by doing Monday and Tuesday's routines. I worked arms and forearms and then hams and calves. I skipped abs. Since I work out my abs each morning at home, I missing doing them at the gym is not a big deal. I noticed I was a little weak on a couple of the ham movements, namely lying leg curls. This could have been because I used a different machine or because it was near the end of my marathon workout.

It's shorts weather in Portland because the sun is out and it is supposed to get up to 66 degrees Fahrenheit. Today, I will buy some new shorts. Last summer's are rather large, requiring a belt to hold them up. I am becoming so svelte. :)

Cardio day:

Did 8 x 220 yard (200 meter) repeats.  Started super slow because I'm afraid of ripping a hamstring at my age.  Started at 8.6 MPH and finished at 10.9 MPH. I know it's slow for "sprints" but I'm old and working on it. Really afraid of pulling a hammy and getting thrown off the treadmill. It would make for an amusing story on how I ended up in the hospital.   ;D

I hit the heavy bag afterwards for 2 three minute rounds.

Doing leg curls.. do you guys find pointing your toes away from your legs brings your calves into play? Just a random question :) I like doing this myself.
