Title: Are stretch marks
Post by: Domthemilky on December 01, 2011, 02:47:54 PM
A sign of growth at all? Recently I have had great big purple lines down my lats and where my pec-delt tie in is. Is this any indicator of muscle growth or perhaps just a vitamin deficiency? I've always wondered if stretch marks on muscles were a good thing..

Uh, yeah. You're growing too fast for your skin to accommodate.

Yes they are.

Congratulations, wanker. It'll cost you a few thousands to remove them.

coco butter or vit e cream. won't get rid of em but should help them to heal quicker and blend in with your skin

everyone who trains gets them.

I think it will worsen if you get a quick growth spurt though. like when "bulking". cuz then you grow muscles and fat at the same time and your skin cant take the expansionrate.

I'm not sure stretch marks tan at all.

You're lucky to have gotten them now and not five or ten years ago.

At least now there are laser options that can fade them to obscurity.

i think pregnant women are adviced to moisturise their skin (belly) from as early as possible to help keep the skin supple and therefore, damage less as it grows.

my gf is a natural blonde, and her stretch marks are hard as fuck to see. my ex is a brunette and hers haven't healed quite as well. i guess a lot of genetic factors come in to play as to how well your skin recovers

Girls and sons who have not been loved by their fathers seek attention once teens and adults to compensate for what they didnt have originally. Fathers either left them alone, or were distant most of the time and not encouraging them. Some even despised them which would shape their personality and the way they d interact with others for the rest of their life.
They are extremistic in everything they do, always looking exageratly for attention, and have troubles adapting to society's rules, because they also have troubles defining their own identity and respecting authority and hierarchy.

Also boys who got picked on by others during childhood and adolescence -often sons without a father figure- try to compensate by lifting weights, to develop muscles and survive in ther male world. They re insecure because they re girly, childish, feminine having been raised by a single mom. They lift obsessively hoping it will transform them into men, to compensate for their lack of influence from a father figure that was not there. Unfortunaltey they can get as big as they can it doesnt cure their insecurity and who they truly are, how they grew up being raised by a single mom. They re no as manly as other men whatever they do, and they often have a big lack of masculine presence they dont know how to balance, hence often being borderline homosexuals while trying to get their manhood back thru various manly activities (mma, cars, weight lifting etc). They are often the ones that, in order to get respect from other males will go the steroids route to get even "bigger" attemptint to cure their insecurity , but being natural not being "enough", they still feel "too small", insecure, amongst other males. The lack of a father figure also often means they didnt have guidance to continue studies and are often working shitty manual jobs.

Your muscles are growing faster than what your skin grows naturally. But don't worry, take it as a sign of you're doing something right at the gym that is if you're getting stronger and adding more muscles mass. There's 3 things you can do to help this and also prevent more from growing.

1 - Cocobutter with Vitamin E lotion (Palmer's is a great brand)
2 - Use Mederma (it does work which is a bit pricey, remember the fresher the stretchmarks the better it'll blend it in with your skin and make it very less visible)
3 - Tanning

If you use all these 3 tips I gave in conjunction with another, don't sweat it your skin will look 80%-90% normal.

Brah, stretch marks are a bodybuilders dream. Just read the answer from an animalpak sponsor

Q: As my biceps get bigger, I’ve developed stretch marks on them. How do I get rid of them?
A: Your kiddin’ me right? You’re concerned about stretch marks? Most guys would cut their balls off to have stretch marks on their arms, especially the bicep. The guys I talk to all want to know how they can get bigger arms. If you have stretch marks, it means that your arms have grown. Who gives a flying fuck about stretch marks? Know what? If your worried about growing and getting stretch marks, then I have an idea: Why don't you take up knitting instead? This way you don't have to worry about that kinda’ shit. The only things you'll have to worry about are patterns and yarn colors.

That is some hardcore motherfucking shit right there. That's right, take up knitting. Bodybuilders are for hardcore people only.

Spot on.  When I was pregnant, I ate alot of oysters/seafoods and I never got any stretchmarks.  I have a friend who has had 5 children and she doesn't have any stretchmarks either.  She told me she ate half a dozen oysters everyday during her pregnancies.
I do think it genetic as well because my mother never got any stretchmarks either.
