I think Dave meant when they both competed in the Ironage. Both were Ironage bodybuilders.

One thing that must be very hard on pro bodybuilders is retiring, and looking like they never took bodybuilding seriously.

The interesting thing about that HBO documentary news video with John Romano was that it came out in 2004 - exactly when the first "chemical era" bodybuilder died young [Sonny Schmidt, who was 50 at the time].

At the time, John was right...but steroids ramped up massively once Dorian Yates started winning his Mr. Olympia titles in 1992.

And now we have the bodies...

I'm curious if anyone here even knows anyone who has died of COVID, given the average age of death is 85.

I know but they were relatives of coworkers.

I have also asked myself a few times if this thing is real. I barely see people out coughing. You'd think if there was a pandemic people would be keeling over on the streets.

Here Brad looks like Dorian. RIP!

I do Matt. No only deaths but in severe condition for some months now. Men in their fifties.
I also know many many more who had it and was nothing more than a strange flu.
I still fear more crossing a heavily traffic road than getting covid.

I know three people who died of Covid. One was a buddy of mine in his late 40s, he was otherwise perfectly healthy; one of my faculty died about 6 months ago; and the Dean of Admissions at my university died in December.  The latter two were in their 60s.  By the time you’re in your 60s other health issues are probably at play, but to the people who knew them they were apparently healthy and fully functional until Covid cut them down.

Not sure how old Brad was, or what he looked like in recent years, but very sorry to hear of his passing.  I believe he was married for many years and apparently his wife knew of his side hustle (pun intended) and was ok with it.  R.I.P. Big guy.  :'(

Ramped up massively with Dorian, but Dorian was also one of the more intelligent ones quitting it early/in time! (before it ruined his health/killed him)

What's the story on the woman? Did the 27 year old have health issues?

Lots of people crowded around him at the Expos (way more than just fags) and he was extremely friendly. Just loved showing off his synthol to the fans. Interesting dude. I bet very few people have any negative words on him, and that boils down to the essential despite all else.

Schmidt died of cancer. What did that have to do with steroids?

I believe Brad already had a kidney transplant years ago. He was on imunosupressant meds.
