It is with a heavy heart that I write this, my friend Danny who went by the moniker "Mark Kerr", passed away Friday evening. I don't yet know the details but he was 37 years old. I'm proud to have known him and called him a friend. His internet persona may have been different but in real life, he was a good guy.
Danny, I'll miss you bro. :'(

It is serious, he was a co-worker and was a funny guy in real life too. I don't yet know what exactly happened to him but I'll be attending the funeral tomorrow. I may update this with details depending on what I find out.

Have to rule that out as he was fit and not even close to being obese, nor did he have any disease or history of illness in the years that I knew him. He used to spot me from time to time as we worked out at the same gym. I remember he had to hand me the 110s for shoulder press a few years back.

While I never did discuss if he had or had narry a heart ailment, I can assure you he was a steady member of the gym and regular attendee which leads me to deduce that there was no inherent or latent malady waiting to beset.

Not always. A few years ago, we played in bb tourney and the team we had to play on the Saturday morning had their first baseman die on the Friday night. He was 27, died in his sleep and and left a daughter. Very sad.

Danny really embodied the "shirt off the back" adage. I will remember him also for his candor and willingness to listen. I used to prank call his place of business and he would know it was me, being in on the gaffe himself, and we would have a good laugh about it as I tormented his co-workers.

As a father and as a son who lost his father, I feel for the son who lost his. It's devistating at any age, but to be young, and I'm assuming he's either around as old as my son (11 1/2) or younger would be especially more devistating and is probably asking alot of questions that are difficult to answer at this time. When I here of things like this I always think of my son.
