I do agree that you shouldn't be too hard on Ronnie for all the hard training, etc.... up to a point, but you also shouldn't pussyfoot around the fact that there was a decade+ of extra wear and tear he put himself through that was unnecessary. There needs to be more talk about about the need for these guys to be honest with themselves about when it's time to hang up the thong.

don't know don't care to find out....I'm 40 with 25 yrs of training behind me...I have a real job with a benefits, pension etc and most important I have my health which I never sacrificed to win plastic trophies and become "famous" in a little cult pageant!!!

At the end of he day Shawn Ray is the only veteran with legendary status who you can actually take serious in social media , Ronnie , Levrone , Wheeler are laughable ever since they decided to keep going " to remain relevant on social media.

It’s bs. Ronnie would have still been a Champion, Phil and jay never did crazy weights/loose form and look at them, many others too. If you are going to grow you are going to grow, whether it’s 20 pounds dumbbell curls or 100 pounds dumbbells in your face.

this was exactly my point back when he was like 3 or 4 times Mr.O , If he wanted to break the record or even win 10 sandows all he needed it to do was to train smarter and just focus on being ripped on stage .

You take away the heavy weights, Ronnie could've lost his will to train. A bored Ronnie isn't an Olympia winner. In the end, he just needed to change after 2007 or so. Even Kazmaier and Coan learned to go lighter after a couple of decades.
