Buying Adjustable bench
« on: October 09, 2006, 05:37:31 AM »
I have a found the bench I want to get but its rather expensive.

This is an commerical quality bench. The price is $425 plus shipping
At first I had ordered it because shipping was only $8, but now they are telling
me that shipping is $150 because it is manufactured in Canada.
So I am looking at $575.  The guy recommend another bench to me
This one is made by Legend for $380 plus $40 for shipping

Has anyone used the Legend Bench before?  I have used the APEX one and
I loved it. Stable, Solid, fully adjustable.  Let me know what you guys think.
Keep in mind this bench will be abused everyday with 120lb dumbell presses, and
eventually 150lb dumbell presses.

More expensive equipment should be tried in person prior to purchase. Try to find it locally, both to avoid shipping costs and to allow the opportunity to thoroughly check out the piece.

Contact each manufacturer and find out (1) the closest distributor in the area within a couple of hours drive, and (2) any gyms in the area that carry their equipment. If no stores carry the equipment you might at least be able to check out local gyms before ordering.
