Tampa's airport standing by for Haitian refugees

Tampa International Airport is on stand-by to receive refugees from earthquake ravaged Haiti, an airport spokeswoman said. Refugees could begin arriving as early as today.
The first refugees were sent to Homestead Air Force Base near Miami and Sanford International Airport near Orlando. The next round of refugees is expected to fly into Ft. Myers, Hillsborough Aviation Authority spokeswoman Brenda Goehagen said.
After those three locations receive evacuee flights from Haiti, Tampa will start receiving them. Aircraft will be sent to airports down the list as social services and medical facilities at each location are filled.
They are expected to arrive on Air Force C-17 transports. Hillsborough Fire Rescue and the Department of Children and Families are also on stand-by. The evacuees could include orphans and people injured
