Jay Cutler is by far the classiest,
down to earth not just bodybuilder,
but sportsmen I have met.

I ran into him at Whole Foods one day,
and I had on a Max Muscle shirt,
he approached me, and asked if I liked the
shirts.  I then asked him if I could examine
his shopping cart to make sure he is on the right
program.  He said ya sure, and then talked with me
for about 20 minutes to a half hour with my wife and me.

Props to Jay, only other Pro who was as cool was
Charles Glass.

How can a man so big (Nasser) be so weak (relatively)? I witnessed him training in the mid-90s when he visited Toronto (Kovacs was with us, too) and was like, Man, this cat's not very strong! At the time, I chalked it up to traveling, strange gym, sporadic eating, blah, blah, blah ...

But now, after watching his DVDs, and hearing what others say, as well, it seems he really is a weakling. Not to mention that ABYSMAL showing with 225 on the bench (15 lousy reps).

Doesn't make sense. A man around 300 pounds and using ample "supplements" should be, by default, hugely strong.

Nasser told me himself that he purposely doesn't lift to absolute failure to lessen the likelihood of injury, including the 225 x 15 during the bench press competition.  Also, that competition was later in his career - when he was younger he was stronger.  Sometimes he lifts heavier than other times.  Some of the heavier lifts I've seen in his videos are 200 lb overhead dumbell extensions, 585 lb deadlifts, 9 plate deep hack squats, 405 lb barbell rows, etc.  Even those lifts were not to absolute failure.

Also, another note on the 225 x 15 bench press, if you watch the video you'll notice his form is 3-4 times slower and more strict than the guys doing 30+ reps.

Dexter is pretty cool.  I met him when he was guest posing at a local amateur show.  After the show he stayed late to chat it up with the winner and his family.

Ronnie looks cool in his videos, but I think in person he is too quiet and difficult to converse with.

Nasser is ultra-cool in that he is not only very talkative but he remembers your name even if you see him after a few years with no contact.

he is a musician and actor and has also done work with the make a wish foundation

he wasn't the typical meathead that lived the repetitive bodybuilding lifestyle 24/7 all year and lived like a normal person for the most part,  still he showed up on stage to fulblOWN the competiton

i think it was groink that said this, he was the kid in college that would always show up late to class, sit in the back and still get an A while geeks like shawn showed up early, always raised his hand and struggled to get a B

oh and he's one of the few recent pros that didn't always get the "eww he's gross" comments from women seeing him in pics
