Two Musclephone alerts in one day! Musclephone announced via Flexonline that Lee Priest is not going to be allowed to compete in the Atlantic City show and that the IFBB is going to make a decision at the Mr. Olympia?!!!
What happened the Lee and others saying he was already in the Atlantic show? Are they leading Lee Priest on again?

There are always lots of rumors and stories that you hear around the expos, contests and more. But until the final word comes out, you have to call it that - a rumor.
I saw the 'news' stories of Lee going to compete in the Atlantic Pro, but there was no final word on it. Some people just jump the gun.
Hopefully, when the IFBB has their meetings before the Mr. Olympia, they will finalize having Lee back into the IFBB, and it would be cool to see him back on the 2009 Ironman stage.

Vince - this issue of why Lee was suspended has been hashed out so many times. He chose one path, it was his decision. Now, hopefully, if Lee is sincere in coming back to the IFBB, all will work out for him at the Olympia meetings. Simple as that.

I'm a Lee Priest fan like most of us here but the truth is, do any of you really believe that he would ever be top 3 in any IFBB shows from here on out even if he could compete? Yeah he is a freak, but his back has been getting worse each year that goes by...Maybe he felt the PDI didn't have anyone that could challege him so that is why he has diminishing results but i think like Ruhl, his time has past...Maybe i'm wrong and will be the first to say it if he can qualify but my belief is that we should stick a fork in him...

Sounds to me like this is a very good marketing stratergy by the IFBB.All the hype about when/if Lee Priest will be allowed to compete at the Olympia etc will keep a lot of people in suspense and follow the scene to see what happens.Cool way to promote the show/IFBB imo.Nothing better than to have some controversy goin on for them to hype things up a bit.

IFBB knows they're onto a good thing here... generating interest and hype in a show that seem to have a predetermined winner already. This way no one will be talking too much of the lack of conditioning of whomever wins or how dissappointing it was. More interesting to see what they decide concerning Lee... These are business men... they don't give a rat's ass about anyone else's opinion. And negative press is better than no press at all in their opinion.

Yeah, it really is. The IFBB are clearly holding out on Lee as loooonnng as possible to exert the maximum amount of control/pain. There's no reason why he shouldn't be in the Atlantic Pro, unless he's being banned for life. It seems like it would be one or the other if they were playing fair.

Retire? Priest is only in his early/mid 30s, still with plenty of years left to compete.
And, it was just a mere two years ago (and change) that he won the IronMan Invitational. Unless, he's sustained some major injuries between then and now, he's still got the goods to get it done.

Actually, if he stays off all message boards he'll be fine. It's not like he's talking shit to the powers-that-be to their faces, it's mostly been through posts here, on BB.com, and at MD.

Although I dislike the way Bob has handled this situation in the past, being somewhat dismissive and at times combative, he did everything he could this time around, guided Lee as best as he could, and left it in the hands of the IFBB heads. That's it.
At this point I don't think it's fair to single out Bob.
But I do think that making Lee wait until the Olympia, not allowing him to at least enter for the Muscular Development sponsored Atlantic City Pro show is a slap in the face to him. He already waited over a year, and now is being told that he wont have an answer until later this year, and wont have an opportunity to compete in a major show until 2009.
The fans want him back, the sport needs him back, and everyone seems to be rooting for him at this point. Why the IFBB needs to wait until the Olympia to say yes or no is beyond me.

Nahh Bob could have done more. Watch a fellow NFL player get dicked over and watch what happens. Chick is more worried about staying on Manion's good side then worrying about Lees Career. they need to have a Rep who can look Manion in the face and say GO FUCK YOURSELF and not have to deal with Manion harming his pocketbook.
