Arnold's height 6 feet plus

there is so much debate about how tall Arnold is/was.  people saying he was 5'10'' tops.  i saw this pic with him standing against a concrete block wall. these blocks are 8 inches tall with mortar. he is slightly above the 9th one, with low soled shoes and not even standing straight upright. the top of the 9th block is 6 feet, and with poor posture and maybe a half inch sole he is still well above the 6 foot mark.

Of course he was a little over 6 foot. Most hard core lifters shrink as we age into the 60's, even non lifters lose disc space and shrink.

In the Guinness book of world records they listed him as 6'1" which sounds about right.

He was measured 1.88m once, 1.87 another time. I think he was about 6''1.5' or so...Anyway I don't think I ever saw pictures of opponents taller than him, except for Louie of course.

the blocks are 7 and 5/8'' and the average mortar thickness is 3/8'',  hence the 8'' per block height

That's what I figure, and most guys that were around at that time figure that's correct, including larger strength athletes that would have no reason to lie.

The point about lifters losing height is a good one. Most older lifters that I know that were around for years claim a 1 - 2 inch loss in height.

At his prime he was about 6'1, possibly about 6'2 at a push.

Now that he's going to be 65 this year he may have shrunk a few inches with age so even now he's going to be at least 5'11".

That would be consistent, 5 10.5 now, 6 0.5 in his twenties. There's no way he was any taller, he had a lot to gain back then by being taller. For f sake the only reason louie was in pumping iron was that he was bigger. Again arnold didn't get picked for the hulk because he wasn't tall enough, if you think a manipulative struggling actor isn't gonna exaggerate his height your beyond naive. Especially one that is selling himself based on his body.

If you been paying attention bbing is all about fake number, because the fact is the numbers don't matter.
