best book ever.
The movie could have been better (allthough christian bale is brilliant) but it could have been worse.  I heard Leonardo di Caprio was going after the part of Bateman.  Could you imagine?

Awesome book.  The one page descriptions of a person's suit gets nauseating after a while, but the graphic details of the sewer rat and pvc pipe was sick.

I didn't read it. But I've read "Less Than Zero". Recommend it. Great book.

its a thousand times more brutal they left out a lot of stuff in the movie - the part when he puts the lighter in one of the girls eyes until they burn and pop or when he walks around the house with the cut of head of one prositute impaled on his dick and a lot more

Tremendous book.  The only parts that bothered me were the album descriptions that sometimes went on for pages.

I read it about seven years ago on holiday and I thought it was good - all the stuff that's in the movie is there (obviously) except they're a bit more drawn out. The book is much more explicit than the film as well and you tend to get the impression it's dragging on a bit and it doesn't really "end" as such. Overall, great book and seeing as you guys on Getbig have jogged my memory about it I might pick it up again and have a read of it. My favourite scene is when he's decribing his shower and exercise routine when he gets up in the morning.  8)

Reading Lunar Park right now. The beggining is autobiographical about what he was going through when he wrote his early books. His life was very fucked up and he still is haunted by the thoughts and years he spent writing american psycho. He can't even read it he claims. lol
