Now a car that did have gas tank issues was the Muira...a guy was telling me of a Muira he had when he picked it up from the dock, put gas in it, and later on he was driving it he smelled gas. It had a leaky tank from the factory.

Spectators at tracks go to see race car driving. Second, there are preventative measures such as walls dividng the track and the spectators.
That is much different than a random guy walking down the street and getting plowed by a car going 160mph.

However, there is a difference between getting into a car with someone who breaks a minor traffic violation, as opposed to someone who is driving 160mph. Most people are not going to stand for the driver driving 160mph without saying something or having the person stop. I am not too sure what Walker did, but I bet he did not make him stop. My bet is that Walker did not try to make him stop.
You have to think about a spectrum. There are minor traffic violations and then there are major traffic violations. This is a major traffic violation, and if Walker was exercising better judgment, he would most likely not be in this predicament (I cant say definitely would not be, but most likely wont). most porsches (911's at least) were always super solid to me (raced them for years), but the GT looks a bit different.. I've never driven one, but it looks like it may handle a bit like an NSX or Lotus, which to me were 'knife-edge' handling cars.... in which the back end would snap around VERY quick if you're not carefull... there's no "play" in the backend (no "drifting").The back end of my Lotus was nearly impossible to snap around.
makes me seriously reconsider picking up that NSX I've been looking at. Unless im on a track, i'll take a big, safe S-Class.

And that is one of the main things with that car---people don't know how to drive it, and it stalls out. It's got a tricky clutch. #1 complaint about the car. Those things are certified to a high safety standard because of the chance of impact. They're not going to put a trans tunnel into a race car thats going to explode and fry the driver.

Suspect Arrested in Theft of Porsche Parts After Santa Clarita Collision
The investigation of the traffic collision wherein Paul Walker and Roger Rodas lost their lives on Saturday, November 30, 2013, in the city of Santa Clarita is continuing. Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station traffic investigators are continuing to document the investigation.
At the conclusion of the on-scene traffic investigation the night of November 30th, the wrecked Porsche Carrera GT was loaded onto a contracted flat-bed tow truck to be transported to the impound yard for further investigation. When the tow truck left the scene at about 10:00PM that night, several vehicles followed it eastbound on Newhall Ranch Road.
At one point the driver of the tow truck stopped at the red light E/B Newhall Ranch Road at McBean Parkway. A witness saw a male exit a vehicle that was following the tow truck. The male grabbed a piece of the wrecked Porsche off the tow truck bed. The male drove away with the stolen vehicle part. The tow truck driver reported the theft to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s detectives assigned to the theft case were able to identify a suspect. A search warrant was obtained and a suspect was taken into custody as he was leaving his residence located in Tujunga, Los Angeles County. 18-year old Suspect Jameson Witty was arrested at his residence.
A stolen vehicle part was later recovered by sheriff’s detectives serving a search warrant at a residence in Canyon Country, Los Angeles County. The car part was a red, T-top roof panel to the wrecked 2005 Porsche Carrera GT.
A second suspect in this theft has been identified. The 25-year old suspect is outside the state of California and is in communication with sheriff’s detectives making arrangements to surrender himself.
Suspect Jameson Witty was booked at Santa Clarita Valley Station with bail set at $20,000.00
