Fact of the matter is this is lazy training, no matter how close you are to a contest.

I have seen 14 year old teenagers who weigh 130 pounds do lunges with a 50 pound barbell.

There is a difference between remaining "safe in terms of weights/exercise before a contest" and "pure laziness."

This is pure laziness, and letting the drugs do the job for him.

Yeah, but didnt Ronnie train heavy even before a show? I mean, I know a lot of it was for the camera, but he still trained with decent weight.

1) Ronnie was not of this planet.  If you cannot do something that Ronnie could, well, that doesn't really mean you suck.

2) even though RC would deadlift for a double just to ham it up for the camera, normally he trained volume like most pros.  Granted he used weights far beyond what you or i could ever dream of, but yeah 10-15 reps was the rep range mostly

Not defending Jay, but if 130 pound teen is lunging with 50 lbs, its 180lbs total.  If Jay is doing 50lbs, its over 300.  it looks heavier then a 50lb barbell anyway.
