Lakers should be smart and dismantle....why try and drag out the Kobe death spiral for three years? 25-30 wins, miss the playoffs, no lottery...just mediocrity with no future. Just pull the plug, save yourself three years of "rebuilding" and start the process now.

so with the amnesty how does that work, is it they can void them off the roster and still pay them the full rate without impacting the salary cap???

Not sure exactly the details of what the player gets paid, but the money is take off the cap so it gives them more space to sign a free agent. Also they cant resign that player for like a year or two if they want them back. I remember the Blazers did this with Brandon Roy when is knees went out. :(

I'm SURE the NBA would go ahead and hook up the lakers with the #1 spot for the draft. WAY BETTER for business than letting the next LeBron wither away in Sacramento or freezing in minnesota. Just let him be a star in LA with carmelo or lebron... and kobe to teach him... and a dozen very good guys who would BEG to play for minimim to be part of the greatest lakers team in 30 years.
lebron + kobe + wiggins (future all-time great) + (your name here). Guys would be getting to come to LA to play.

When Kobe comes back he ain't tanking! Although it won't really matter cause Lakers will suck either way!

he's 35 and won't come back until AT LEAST Valentines day.... achilles is a 6-8 months injury, right? I know he'll be doing all the Gh under the sun to come back in time... but you have to think Kobe would be smart enough to just settle for 20 wins and the chance at Wiggins.
