Funniest Tattoo seen / experience?
« on: September 13, 2007, 09:44:49 AM »
Though the funniest thing I've seen though tattoo wise was going with my friend to get some ink done, and there was his sister with her boyfriend and he was about to get a tattoo. Now, my friend and his sister are black and not the light skinned kind so I'm not racist but HER boyfriend was BLACK..like straight from the Congo, middle of the night dark and just shelled out $600 for a tattoo of a flower (a lilly with her name on it)..the kick is that 90% of the color / shading was being done in WHITE!!!!...lol ::) ;D

For those who don't know tattooing, white has the largest color particles and is the hardest color to get the skin...usually taking 3+ sessions of shading to get it to look truely white. The artist told us later that he tried for almost 20min to talk him out of a tattoo period but to no avail.

Then there is the played out tiger, dragon, chinese characters, superman logo....give me a break. What happened to originality?

What's your story?

Working as a trainer, I see many types of people on a daily basis.

Usually it's the late night crowd that sports the outrageous bodyart.

I have seen some female bodybuilders with some strange tatts.

They usually don't come in during the peak hours because it's so crowded and I'd imagine they are self-conscious.

The area I live is somewhat conservative, the suburbs, alot of Mormons and families........so that's probably why the counter-culture who sport the tatts and other bodymods come out at night (I'd imagine).

I don't believe they are self-conscious.  Why would they be?  They do what they do...to look how they look.   ;)

I'm judging based on the behaviour I see, how they act...

They tend to look around at who's looking at them.......very aware.

Some of them tend to look like they have low self-esteem.

I think they realize they aren't what the public considers the aesthetic ideal and that's partly why they train at night when there are considerably less people.

Usually those who want to remain "invisable" don't look around to see who's looking at them, but more so only look down.  Those who look around are looking to see who is noticing them.  Take it from me  ;)  Female bodybuilders, true female bodybuilders don't care what the average person thinks at the gym or even outside the gym for that matter.  They are in there to train and build their bodies.

Div bro, honestly I find your reasoning and thought process very intrigueing...we are similar minded though you are much more blunt that I..I respect that.

Now, back on topic...you have to have seen a hilarious / out of place tattoo or have some story huh?

I don't differentiate between true female bodybuilders and fake ones.

I go by the physique, the size......the work in progress.

I don't agree with you about them not caring about what others think about them.

If that was the case, they wouldn't be looking around.

Sorry to go offtopic, but I don't think female bodybuilders in general are self conscious at all. In fact, they have busted their butts way more than the average gym goer, they would not be intimidated by a gym, not know how to use the equipment etc. like the 'general public' can be.

I've always noted the self conscious people to be the very overweight etc. If any reason female bodybuilders train late at slower times, would not be out of shame, but probably to avoid the dreaded gym rush full of clueless people and the daft questions.

Personally, I would not be caught dead training at peak hour.

Those could all be valid reasons......

There are some that train at peak hours and they do tend to be the type who go about their business which is to be respected.

I think they fit the mold of an assertive type who doesn't care what others think.

The late night female bodybuilders however tend to be more of the fragile ego type who prefer not to be viewed by others, IMO.

Going by body language and eye contact usually works and I see these people consistently.

hmmm. My training times change since i work shift work but I try not to train during peak hours; not only is it crowded but crowded with lot's of people who are usually just in the way. I think it's amusing when people make remarks about "female bodybuilders" since a good 99% of us don't care what's being said.

I saw a tat on a chick that read "slut", I thought that was...uh different. I also saw a dude with skinny ass arms have a tat's of 9 mm's on his biceps and would go up to people and say "take a look at these guns"!!!

Hey,,,  Greatest snow on Earth or not - I'm OUT-A-There!  ;D

A nice place to visit - During ski season.

It would blow these "Progressive" Liberals by me minds SO bad they would NEVER recover, if they watched 1 night of SLC local news....

I better not drag my Buddy AlGebra in here, his nose is itching as we key...

I'm down in Phoenix, bro....

It's not like that, but very conservative.........the Mormons are large in Mesa.

Think of it like a suburb of Provo......

They are their own community........the rest of us exist outside their realm.   :-X

Its another F'n dimension...  Like Twilight Zone....NaNeNaNe...
I know some devote Mormons I like, and I also know plenty of what you allude to.
Most ppl cant imagine that society. So much repression, and rebellion coming out in the oddest ways.
Fact is SLC has more gutter drunks and dopers than most cities I been to, and thats a lot!

Trying to CONTROL PEOPLES LIVES - often backfires BADLY!
Beautiful country & one of the best Girl Watchin' cities on the planet, but too much emotional baggage in them thar parts for this guy.

But, Damn now I wana ski Alta or Briton.

Wouldn't you be self conscious if you went to a gym to work out late at night (hoping someone is not staring at you & making observations behind your back) & when you do look behind your back....there's Division.

I've spent a week in SLC, ...watched the news a few times.
It didn't blow my mind, ...I previously understood I'd be entering the twilight zone going into SLC!

I saw a guy with Jigga tatted on his neck. In cursive. For those of you who don't know, Jigga is Jay-Z. No man has another dude's name, especially a rap artist tatted on his neck.

I just saw a white dude today with The Game's tear-drop tat underneath his right eye...Epic trying to be "hard" ::)

And don't let me start on "branding"
