I see more people left out the 'realistic' part
Good point, but the physiques they strive for are
not the realistic ones...
People tend to aspire to be like "heros," the idolization of those who are
nothing like the rest of the population. This is productive for our population as a whole. It's also how it works both physically and intellectually. Seems hopeless, but it's actually and ultimately productive. When you set a goal higher than that which is "realistic," you often achieve
even more than you would have if you would have set a more realistic one.
I find the best way to utilize the concept in any case is to set a goal that is slightly higher than "realistic." Not
far higher, but
slightly higher. You may end up further than expected had you expected otherwise...
