Overtraining vs Sex drive
« on: November 18, 2008, 11:38:21 AM »
guys, posted a few days ago about thinking i'm overtraining and needed a break for a few weeks.
Been doing a lot of internet research about excessive working out with layoff time will decrease test and as a result, your sex drive.

Any of you have any experience with fluctuations in sex drive from over training or from taking time off?

Yes, I had been training extremely hard for about 6 months straight and then I layed off about 10 days. My sex drive got extremely strong. Too much training in a natural bodybuilder can elevate cortisol levels and lower testosterone. Now I do a system where I train very hard and heavy for 2 weeks in a row and on the 3rd week, I lighten up and go for more reps. This is keping me from too much cortisol production.

interesting.  I haven't really taken time off in 16 years.   A few days here and there, but nothing much.  I hope taking off til december ups my sex drive.
