I dont think I've ever gotten the "just because you're bigger doesn't mean you can fight" one, but I hear the otehr quite often, in this gym it's mostly older guys telling me about their kids/nephew/friends kid/whatever thats bigger/stronger than me.....or the guy that used to work out in the gym that always lifted way more than I do and had to have other people load and unlaod his plates for him but he had to quit and find a gym with more weights cause he "outgrew" this one. ;D

Stereotyping is annoying as fuck, but total bullshit when you bring it upon yourself, it's not like being tall, or black or irish, it's actively seeking attention that you get while complaining about that attention epic bullshit.

AND on top of all that I have a really good, positive personality. How can you even pretend to understand the discrimination I face on a day to day basis by EVERY SINGLE PERSON I come across.

The constant jealousy, comments. Positive personality as well. The size helps deflate anything go too far it scares them off. 20 pounds smaller while just as lean and i think i would have a lot more to deal with.

Not wrong in the sense that we all wouldn't workout for self image, but everything else. Big muscle guys are looked down upon because being big and muscular man has prety much the level of stamp as being a sleazy sluty whore looking girl.
Just like all you big guys said, you have the label in registry of the 1980's muscle heads and people think you have nothing else in mind except your pecs and your delts and how you train super hard, and that you try to compensate your nothingness with your physical outlook :D
But that's far from the truth.
For example me, I'm 3 times smaller than these big guys here, but I train for the same reasons as these guys. I'm lean and I look like I workout somewhat but I'm not a beefcake so in reverse, these bigger guys immidiately assume that "I think I'm a bad ass because I'm just ripped" and then it's like "Oh it doesn't count because you weight 165lbs, try do the same when you weight 230lbs *beefcake laughter*".These big guys have this impression that we twinks think our abs and bicep veins are so super impressive and that it proves we train so hard... which is NOT the case.
Overally they don't like me having calvin and klein jeans and some tight marco polo shirt :D , they think I don't deserve wearing it because hey what the hell! "This guy can't be so confident with about 50lbs less muscle, can he? I have to trash his self image!". But not very often, almost never because even I'm smaller, I train for the same reasons and every muscle head has that secret "gym bondage" mentality anyway, so whatever conflict we may have it's resolved in the early seconds of confrontation.
So I know how these big guys feel and it must be frustrating at times. The most problems I have with women, they immidiatley label me as a player and a douchebag, most of the time they look at me as if I've killed their dog and made them eat it... yes BEFORE I have talked shit to them. Why? for the same reasons prety much, but you gotta understand, a guy like me who is prety and lean is considerred as a liar and a womanising sexist player... which I'm not... LOL ! ehm...
Anyway, if I get to chat with some bigger guy than my self who is as lean as i am I immidiately tell him he looks bad ass and ask how long he has been training. Then it's a muscle head conversation between a twink and a beefcake, oh how romantic :-* ;D

I remember two times in particular those exact words were stated. Once when I was a teenager working the late shift sweeping up at work and some drunk dude somehow managed to get inside when we were closed. I remember saying simply, "I've got nothing for you unfortunately bud, we're closed". I then got told to "fuck off" followed up with that classic line lol.

Sometimes the commensta are just plain jealousy, and that's not an imagination, some ppl are stupid enough to not even try to hide it. Drunks are esp. "open" about how they feel about some muscle mass on another person (even tho' - one couldn't care less, and the initation of the convo is ALWAYS from their part).
The weirdest one I got was from a father of one of my relatives (I don't really communicate with neither of them, kind of like once a 5years or so). He said (out of a blue) - "You know... my sons arms are quite damn big under that shirt" o.O................I started backpedalling while nodding my head, and mumbling something like "Ehm.. yeah.. I can believe that..", becuase it was reaaally awkward. Poor old fucker must've been so upset I'm like twice taller and 4times bigger then his son that he just couldn't keep it to himself.
The "Well... but can you fight well?" is a classic. I usualy answer smth along the lines of "Do you ask this any other athlete.. be it a basketballer or a soccer player..? Because I can't understand how bb'ing is related to the martial arts.." and they back off immediately lol..
When you are "in shape" generally (well - and obviously, not just lean skinny twink, but more or less muscular) you can put on some old clothes, ripped t shirt and go to the mall and noone would consider you a bum, but give you a way instead lol..
Bouncers at the night clubs are especially nice to me, I've noticed, btw... That is good as on numerous occasions I've entered various open-air event with a bag full of food, while they make other people to put in in a trash bin near an entrance lol..

I'm lean and I look like I workout somewhat but I'm not a beefcake so in reverse, these bigger guys immidiately assume that "I think I'm a bad ass because I'm just ripped" and then it's like "Oh it doesn't count because you weight 165lbs, try do the same when you weight 230lbs *beefcake laughter*".These big guys have this impression that we twinks think our abs and bicep veins are so super impressive and that it proves we train so hard... which is NOT the case.

Overally they don't like me having calvin and klein jeans and some tight marco polo shirt :D , they think I don't deserve wearing it because hey what the hell! "This guy can't be so confident with about 50lbs less muscle, can he? I have to trash his self image!". But not very often, almost never because even I'm smaller, I train for the same reasons and every muscle head has that secret "gym bondage" mentality anyway, so whatever conflict we may have it's resolved in the early seconds of confrontation.

So I know how these big guys feel and it must be frustrating at times. The most problems I have with women, they immidiatley label me as a player and a douchebag, most of the time they look at me as if I've killed their dog and made them eat it... yes BEFORE I have talked shit to them. Why? for the same reasons prety much, but you gotta understand, a guy like me who is prety and lean is considerred as a liar and a womanising sexist player... which I'm not... LOL ! ehm...

Anyhow FYI, I'm 6 4 254 pounds, I ain't at 6 percent bodyfat, and I got wide hips and narrow shoulders, but in the real world some people think I'm big.
It's annoying, but on campus most people assume I play football or basketball, and I get lots of little shits, saying size don't matter in a fight, and blah blah. The difference with me and you guys is that I don't go out of my way to look a certain way, I was born tall and so people just assume you guys however, intentionally cycle large amount of hormones to get attention. End of thread.

good stuff. Similar story. I was in Charleston, SC with my gf at the time and we were out drinking. I went to take a leak and when I came out one of the bouncers stopped me and chatted for a minute as another one was hauling a guy out. The bouncer told me that as soon as I left the guy went over and started trying to talk to my gf and they knew what would happen if I came back...haha. good bouncing imo. We spent a shitload on booze that night, too.

I'm 6'2 and although I haven't trained in two years I walk around at 250 - I have spent most of my adult life walking around anywhere between 250 - 280 pounds - My mates nicknamed me shoulders because they thought they were wide - I never see myself as a big dude - but everywhere I go, people always comment on my size. I stopped training two years ago due to injury - but have gone back to my natural size around 230 -250 pounds.

im from serbia... its nothing... its the country with the most jerks IMO ... through the 90s we went through tough times, wars, no money, poor life overall... a lot of people lost their mind at that time... its sad but it is how it is.
Literally here's the situation at our night clubs, bars etc. EVERY TIME if some fella comes with a shirt, and is musclular ripped, he would get picked on, it is always 20 on 1 or something like that, if you come at a bar with a hot girl,,, even worse. i got in the situation when a gun was put in my face just because the guy didn't liked the way i looked him, that was his excuse.
As soon as he put the gun down he got owned by my fist, but moments after that 5-6 other guys jumped right at me and it was game over... really really fucked up country u know...
its a little better situation than this but still... every time u go at the night club shit happens, i got used to it...

I used to cop shit from a Serbian guy i went to school with who was taller than me. Never got it at the time but later i realised it was because of my looks and he couldn't handle i was better looking than him. Wasn't excessive and once i started getting bigger there was nothing. Really hoped i would run into him after school to fuck him up but years later and it's never happened.
