BodySport - Kevin Myles latest article....
« on: January 07, 2008, 09:28:10 AM »
I just read Kevin's article over at BodySport.com and have to say, Kevin, great job at calling it like it is.  Too many people are afraid to say out loud what is often spoken in whispers and far too many people are too afraid to endorse such stances.

Like you said, people chose their own road, you better know where it's taking you in the long haul before you jump on it.  Like you said, it may take a little longer to achieve your goal, but the reward will also be that much sweeter.

Whether or not the sport federations choose to or have any obligation to police the activities of its members is a discussion for another time.  Right now it is time for athletes to take personal responsibility for themselves and their actions and the potential consequences for their own well being....It is time for the athletes to start thinking and looking out for themselves.  Do not do anything that you don’t want to do.  Do the things that are in your personal best interest.  Don’t expect others to put your interest above their own.

....There are athletes currently competing as professionals who won competitions this year being “clean” athletes.  It is not the picture that is always painted by the sensationalist but it is the truth and the more athletes who maintain their patience and follow this path, the more examples that will continue to exist.

...If this means that certain goals may take longer to achieve, so be it.
Truer words never better spoken!

Thanks a lot Rick, glad you liked Out of the Shadows

Certainly not intending to step on any toes but people need to make informed decisions and think about what's best for them beyond what they are led to believe.  All of the competitors are extremely dedicated and hard working and when that is combined with time and patience there are no real limits.

We will keep pushing people out in front who can help lead the way like your wife.  I also really enjoyed meeting and interviewing top amateur competitor Erin Heath recently who is definitely going about things in a positive way.  Have to thank MBell for the intro.

Keep training hard everyone.
