I was talking about brand new BMW's and yes, they're very nice cars. Even though they're nice owning one doesn't impress me much unless you're talking about a 760, M5 or M6. Brand new Bimmers are EVERYWHERE and so are old ones like the one in the picture he posted.

The only way to prove its authenticity, is to open it up (remove the back) and show us the inside. That's the only way. No, I wouldn't expect anyone to do that.

Nope, the 540 came in manual, I've driven a 2004 or 2005, I can't remember which. I think the numbers were close but I'm pretty sure the 540 was quicker to 60 and in the quarter than the 330 was.
I drove a 330 convertible (albeit heavier than a hardtop) with a manual and it was nice and relatively quick but the V8 in the 540 was noticeably better. You're right about the 540 being a nice and less expensive alternative to the M5. It's not crazy fast like the M5 but it's certainly entertaining to drive.

Maybe on paper those cars are faster, but out where it counts-the street- my car hasn't lost to a 3 yet. I've never had the chance to get with an M3, but I can pull with them till the upper speeds and then I'm probably losing but not getting too badly broken.
My car, is an automatic (I wanted cruising, not the hassle of a clutch in the local traffic), with Steptronic.
The car is insanely fast, I can't imagine what an M5 would be like with the added 100 horsepower (200 more in the newer M5's!). I've done 130 over the MacArthur Maze with my buddy in his GS400 hanging behind me. The car didn't even budge, it was hairy but only when I realized I was going as fast as I was! I probably could have gotten another 10mph around that turn but I figured I was going fast enough! ;D

Maybe on paper those cars are faster, but out where it counts-the street- my car hasn't lost to a 3 yet. I've never had the chance to get with an M3, but I can pull with them till the upper speeds and then I'm probably losing but not getting too badly broken.
My car, is an automatic (I wanted cruising, not the hassle of a clutch in the local traffic), with Steptronic.
The car is insanely fast, I can't imagine what an M5 would be like with the added 100 horsepower (200 more in the newer M5's!). I've done 130 over the MacArthur Maze with my buddy in his GS400 hanging behind me. The car didn't even budge, it was hairy but only when I realized I was going as fast as I was! I probably could have gotten another 10mph around that turn but I figured I was going fast enough! ;D
ya know BMW were never going to make that model M5, they thought the 540 was enough, it was only when Jaguar launched the XJR and Mercedes the E55 that they changed their minds

That's fucking sweet but it's major surgery. I can understand the $800 price tag with components and labor. If you're REALLY REALLY REALLY good with cars you could always do the conversion yourself for just the cost of components but that's a big if. If I were you I'd just spend the money and have it done right.

hahahaha..exactly...Freakin liars. Im proud of my kenneth cole watch (you can get them from ross for like 50 bucks) and i drive a camaro, big effin deal, but i do think my camaro can maybe out run his porsche in a 1/4 mile, but i might be wishful thinking.......
