What - the 'current' situation? The sites that were shut down 8 or so years ago, all that had legal agreements?  No one is cancelling anything.  See you at the Olympia

Washington Post situation

If you can't make it, they have a Pay-Per-Vie for live viewing throughout the weekend.

Order the Olympia Pay-Per-View now at OlympiaProductions.com

Was intent on going this year but can't really justify it. I already travel way too much and it's just too damn close to Christmas. Hopefully next year it's not in December.

Yeah, why did they have it in December? Worst month to have it.

HUMBLE, The two weeks before Christmas here in Vegas is usually the quietest time in town and just a few years back, you could get a 3 nite stay in a few LV hotels for FREE. (The Boyd group in particular while most of the other joints capped off at $39 a night with no so called RESORT/EXTORTION fee.)

Free stuff has changed since them good old days but the couple of weeks prior to Christmas still remain relatively void of tourists .... so hotel  room and convention facility rates are somewhat lower.

But .... This town has been making more money lately than any other time throughout the history of Las Vegas so the above is damn likely to change.

There is no longer "free stuff", nor $39 room rates, nor $12 buffets , nor $5 BJ or Craps tables , but you'll have a hard time finding a  room on the weekends and that $12 buffet is now 30+ with a 2 hour+ wait in a very long line, and table games start at $15 or $25 and roulette wheels now have three 'double zeros'.

So it's advisable to bring lots of money or load up your VISA card

BTW ... The Olympia photo that RON posted above is about 30 stories high.

I'm off to see the WIZARd in booth #2407!

There's no place like this place .... especially during this crazy Olympia week!

Another BTW ...ZOUK is the big nightclub in Resort World full of Munchkins and a Wizard spinning records (or something).

Pretty damn nice that they 'hung' that Olympia sign on the side of the hotel.

Ron, do you know who made those arrangements?

I used to live in Vegas so I get it. Way too expensive now, would prefer Reno for gambling. Things are cheaper in December but the people have to come at an inopportune time. We will see.

Aceto is right. They gotta start capping the competition at 15-25 competitors for each division. It’s brutal to sit through all the competitors.

12 for the open division.
