Scooter Libby stops appeal
« on: December 10, 2007, 02:05:58 PM »
Sounds like it's pardon time!!

Which is good.  All he did was (as found guilty by a jury) leak classified info about a CIA agent.

Why are people so upset about that?

Treason only counts when it can be compartmentalized and applied along one's own political prejudices apparently.

The good of the country is secondary to political one-upsmanship with our right wing brethren.

Support a republican administration at all costs even if it damages the country.

How's that for an '08 campaign slogan?

At least it'd be honest.

240, where ya been? Of course he stopped the appeal. He's already been pardoned.
Just another example of Bush's fingers on this nasty ordeal. What if his appeal had been granted, ...it would have opened up another whole nother can of worms that I'm sure neither Bush nor Cheney wanted. By granting a Presidential pardon (which is only supposed to come into play after all legal processes have been exhausted) Bush has interfered with the American justice system, not upheld it. He's got what he needed, ...now this whole thing along with other administration abuses, improprieties, illegalities, and treasonous acts, can be swept under the rug with all the others.
