Why is everyone a cage fighter?

Just seen an interview with Derek Mears who played jason in the new Friday 13th film, when asked if he could switch from his nice guy image to play Jason he said " Oh yeh, im a cage fighter"  ::)

Back in the 1890's Cowboy or Outlaw was the in-thing.

Since MMA is mainstream now, really anyone can be a cage fighter if they want to.  You can't go around and say you're a boxer or a professional wrestler without some serious training.
