I prefer British, Irish, Scottish or Aussie but a genuine Southern accent is nice on a woman.  My GPS is set up with an Aussie accent from a woman.

I listen intently but still get lost a lot.  ;D

I live in the deep south (near Houston), and I my accent and most of those around me aren't that thick by a long shot.

But my accent and my severe case of terminal sarcasm to go along with it get me lots of laughs when I travel outside of the southern US.

The news anchors in the south tend not to have Southern accents. They sound like they are from the north of mid Atlantic or Mid west
