Held in Los Angeles, the meeting lasted two days, and the C-SPAN rebroadcast covered one almost two-hour wrap-up session. The meeting was attended by 1,200 people interested in hearing something other than the official story of 9/11. The TV audience was evidently large enough to spur C-SPAN to broadcast the panel discussion five separate times in four days.

Even a month late, this is a lot of airtime for stories that many people call conspiracy theories!

Yes, Silverstein, who had conveniently insured these buildings (which had been ordered to be dismantled due to safety hazards) for billions of dollars just weeks before 911, said on public television:

"(The Fire Department) were not sure that they were gonna be able to contain the fire. I said, you know, we´ve had such terrible loss of life. Maybe the smartest thing to do is pull it. They made that decision to pull and then we watched the building collapse"

( For example, I believe Hitler was sincere in his desire to establish a "glorious thousand year Reich". Likewise, the ideologues in Washington also have certain belief systems about how the world should be, and are more than willing to use violence and military force to achieve their aims.

This is the final report on the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) investigation of the collapse of the World Trade Center (WTC) towers, conducted under the National Construction Safety Team Act. This report describes how the aircraft impacts and subsequent fires led to the collapse of the towers after terrorists flew jet fuel laden commercial airliners into the buildings; whether the fatalities were low or high, including an evaluation of the building evacuation and emergency response procedures; what procedures and practices were used in the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the towers; and areas in current building and fire codes, standards, and practices that warrant revision.

Extensive details are found in the 42 companion reports. (The final report on the collapse of WTC 7 will appear in a separate report.)  Also in this report is a description of how NIST reached its conclusions. NIST complemented in-house expertise with private sector technical experts; accumulated copious documents, photographs, and videos of the disaster; established baseline performance of the WTC towers; performed computer simulations of the behavior of each tower on September 11, 2001; combined the knowledge gained into a probable collapse sequence for each tower; conducted nearly 1,200 first-person interviews of building occupants and emergency responders; and analyzed the evacuation and emergency response operations in the two high-rise buildings.

The report concludes with a list of 30 recommendations for action in the areas of increased structural integrity, enhanced fire endurance of structures, new methods for fire resistant design of structures, enhanced active fire protection, improved building evacuation, improved emergency response, improved procedures and practices, and education and training. 

These are some of the biggest and most inflencial building groups. They believe in the NIST reports.

agreed. If he wants intelligent conversation, he knows damn well he's not going to get it here. I just don't understand his motive? Not to mention, he does business with getbiggers, you would think he would realize to stay away from politics for business's sake.

I am the first to admit I don't have the answer to what happened that day.  But I also know that there are unanswered questions which, IMO, should be answered.  If Americans' constitutional rights were violated, and our govt in any way covered it up, we have the right to know about it.

And all of us have political beliefs.  Mine have no influence at all upon work relationships. I have heated discussions, and disagree with some clients on political issues.  But it has no bearing upon the work I do for them.  It's just like two co-workers who work together all day, maybe debate abortion or gay marriage, etc, at lunch.  They still have the same business goals, they still have a great relationship, they just have different beliefs about the incomplete puzzle that is political issues.  (None of us have all the answers - wejust have our own interpretations of what we see and hear). 

And I only recently got into teh general discussion board here.  There are some bright minds here.  I never claimed to know what happened on 911.  I have my own guesses.  I have posted some info on support of guesses that others have.  We all have our own guesses.  The govt has their version, in which even they admit that tower 7's collapse cannot be explained.  So whatever happens, the topics I debate here are completely seperate from my web design work.

I think it's amazing that 240 has gone to this great length to post all that stuff on getbig. Not because we're "meatheads" - we do care, but I'm amazed that he seems to have much time on his hands to write all this stuff down. I barely get the time to post once a day!
