reminds me of Karachi...soo many little afghani girls on the streets..yano 12 yr olds..postituting themselves ..for food..unlike the US..the beggars there ask for food..and jobs..
i never..never..pass up the homeless without giving something..and i've lost out on dates cause (and thats self gratitude but f**k i need a pat on the back sometimes) but it sometimes angers me..and it fucking hurts..when i see my parents not give...they r fucking millionaires..and consider themselves religious..soo...charity is supposed to have bias?..plus they fast ..so they SHOULD know what it feels like to go hungry..but nooo..it somehow STILL dosen't hit home..does it..
i see rich christians do the same.." oo he's just gonna go buy drugs" i hear..SO WHAT...if drugs give the person an ounce of relief..then why not..you haven;t walked a mile in anyones shoes..
yanno my last visit to karachi..i met a beggar man that had had his eldest son and middle daughters limbs amputated ...sooo they'd be more effecient beggars(people give more to folks with limbs missing)..soo the youngest son could go to school...we really do live in paradise.
school is free in the US..and yet..yet i see soo many excuses for faliure..some of these people need to be sent to field trips..to witness first hand or someone dying of a gunshot wound to the lungs ( it smells....bad..till you aren't even thinking of the person dying..and then u feel guilty about that) or dying of malnutrition (their bellys swell up)

It's just one of those songs that you cant help but to turn the volume right up and shout as loud as you can to it. Maybe it's just me?

These are all great songs. Am thinking of making a playlist of all of them together. Probably won't make it to work in one piece.
That Genesis tune reminded me of a song some guys played at the wake of a friend who died two years ago.
Get Up Kids-Out of Reach
By any chance... were you in the military?

ROFL... oh Juni!!!
I knew the sadness thread couldn't last...
... but isn't it strange how songs you wouldn't listen to normally, suddenly sound so great when you're screaming them out loud in the car.
-
Total Eclipse of the Heart
Stella I love 'The Scorps' Still Luvin You is a jam! I seen them live 5 times opening up for Motley Crue in Tinley Park.
I'm suprised you didnt say 'Honestly' by Stripper.

No, I was in the military Dee, but I love Emerson Lake and Palmer. My old band used to cover Lucky Man, although Im a keyboardist by trade my singing voice is similar to Greg Lakes.
Genesis has a few songs that are really sad, their Horizons is an acrostic guitar piece thats really beautiful and sad.
-
I love all music, but I do my best not to attach my personal life or history to a song. It's too heart-wrenching and sticks with you for life. Makes getting over or past what ever situation you attached to the song almost impossible as the song at some later point will play...and remind you of the sadness.
But that's just me.
-
this is depressing
-
Bruce Springsteen - Streets of philadelphia
(great song)
UNKLE - Eye For An Eye
(cool clip as well)

The streets - Dry your Eyes
Great song

Me too!! Best live group I ever saw!
I used to lust after Mathias Jabs ::)
I saw them in 1986ish on the monsters of rock tour. They blew Van Halen off the stage. World Wide Live is still one of my favorite CDs.
Flower, and Stella, you gals rock \m/

But if you have a voice like Greg Lake... :o It's gorgeous!

Im a big fan of 70s progressive rock Dee.
The singer in my band cant resist strumming some cords of "From the Beginning" from ELP just to get me to sing. I dont have the power that Lake has, thats for sure!

I Saw Red...Warrant
Something To Believe In...Poison
Don't Know What You Got, Til it's Gone...Cinderella

Silent Lucidity...QueensRyche

billie holiday - strange fruit
(Lewis allen)
Southern trees bear strange fruit,
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root,
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze,
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees.
Pastoral scene of the gallant south,
The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth,
Scent of magnolias, sweet and fresh,
Then the sudden smell of burning flesh.
Here is fruit for the crows to pluck,
For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck,
For the sun to rot, for the trees to drop,
Here is a strange and bitter crop.

Yes, songs can also bring back a lot of memories. For me, it is smelling my ex girlfriend's perfume when I am at a club or etc.
If you don't mind me asking - Beast, do you have a special someone in your life right now?
