The NFL's final word on the Patriots.
« on: September 20, 2007, 08:31:37 PM »
After looking over all the tapes they requested the NFL found NOTHING that was cheating. All this talk about Belichick and the Patriots being cheaters and only winning because of cheating has been exposed as blatant hate and sour grapes.

Success breeds contempt and that's certainly what we've all witnessed over the last week or so.

The most interesting part of this insanity is the fact that the team came together and played incredible football during all that scrutiny. That says a lot about them as a team.

NEW YORK -- The NFL has received and destroyed all materials it requested from the New England Patriots concerning videotaping of opponents' sidelines.

A league statement Thursday said the team was in compliance with a request for tapes and other documents.

"The Patriots have fully cooperated and complied with the requirements of the commissioner's decision," the statement said. "All tapes, documents and other records relating to this matter were turned over to the league office and destroyed, and the Patriots have certified in writing that no copies or other records exist.

"League policies on in-game videotaping and audio communication will continue to be closely monitored and strictly enforced with all 32 teams."

Last week, Patriots coach Bill Belichick was fined $500,000 by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and the team was fined $250,000 for violating a league rule that prohibits clubs from using a video camera on the sidelines for any purpose -- including recording signals relayed to opposing players on the field. New England also must forfeit a first-round draft pick next year if it makes the playoffs or a second- and third-rounder if it doesn't.

A video camera aimed at Jets coaches was confiscated from a Patriots employee during the first quarter of the team's 38-14 win Sept. 9 over New York. Jets coach Eric Mangini has had a cool relationship with Belichick since leaving as Patriots defensive coordinator after the 2005 season.

When asked if the Patriots' defensive players also used microphones or other recording devices in their shoulder pads to pick up Jets audibles, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said: "We have no evidence to support that claim."

All thirty two tapes, and all the documents Goodel said he was 100 percent certain the pats would turn over where given to him by the team. Documents and video dating back all the way till 2001. Goodel and the NFL found NOTHING on those tapes to suggest this was not an isolated mistake made by the pats. According to all the national media Goodel would leave no stone unturned in his search. Guess Roger didn't find anything further to punish the pats over after recieving all the tapes and documents he said on national TV he was "100 percent certain" included everything he asked for. Bob looked a little disappointed on mnf  when Roger stressed he felt 100 percent certain he would see all the documents he asked for.

Nice to see Aiello shooting down some of the witch hunters theories. No the pats did not mic up players and fly spy cams over stadiums they bought from the FBI. Nice to see him talk about there being zero evidence of baseless claims made by hacks with an agenda.

I would hope no one questions the credibility of Mr Goodels findings. I think that would just be dissapointment talking. Dissapointment nothing was found when the NFL looked into the pats internal documentation. Remember guys before this article came out Goodel was a shining star fighting for the NFL.

Looks like this was an isolated incident and the speculation is pretty much put to rest here. Still waiting for all this EVIDENCE the pats where messing around before this incident to come out. According to the NFl there isnt any.

The Patriots' PR department needs you.

In fact, so does Barry Bonds, because you're the best apologist I've encountered since...well, since Chick started working for the IFBB.  lol

You are comparing taping defensive signals ONE TIME that are in plain view of 70,000 people the same as using steroids then lying about it? The pats never even saw the tape. If you have a problem with "cheating" you better not watch the NFL. The pats used the camera to tape signs, thats why they got bagged. Stealing signs is not only accepted, it is legal. You are walking a very fine line calling a team cheaters for life because it is legal to steal signals with binoculars and radio, but not a camera. No competitive advantage was gained. The NFL stated that over and over.Lets compare stealing cookies to robbing a bank next! They are both STEALING. What the pats did was wrong. They got arrogant. They deserved to be punished. Writers with an agenda drove this frenzy. As proven by the NFL 's latest statement. If it was such a HUGE deal why didn't they find anything else when they looked into all that material dating back till 2000? Truth is it was not all it was hyped up to be. Pretty clear by this latest statement by the NFL.

This proves your disdain for the patriots no matter the facts provided. There is no pr involved in the NFL declaring there was absolutely no evidence to suppot the claims of "serial cheating" when they reviewed the tapes and documents they where " Goodel was 100 percent certain" to be everything they asked for. The patriots had nothing to do with this statement. This is straight from the NFL brah.

The NFL stated the patriots where punished for having a camera on the field taping. They also reviewed documents and video dating all the way back to 2000. They found no need to punish the pats further. A right which Goodel himself said he would leave open pending the review of all the documents. Aiello also said there was absolutely no evidence to support the claims of the pats "micing" up players. Its not the pats fault the NFL is raining on the conspiracy theorists parade.

Don't be disappointed your claims are based on disdain and speculation driven by an agenda. Sleep well knowing Roger Goodel left no stone unturned in this investigation, and found there to be no instances of the pats breaking any type of rules before this one situation. Also sleep well knowing whatever team the pats destroyed to make you hate them so much, will always have a little excuse even though the NFL just blatantly said there was no evidence of "cheating" after investigating the pats internal documents and video. Goodel is a no nonsense guy with the outmost repsect for the game says the media when he slammed the pats. That still holds up when he finds nothing shady going on either.

That was great.........Hell i don't care if he bangs sheep...we need another Lombardi.  ;D

But since we Know Tom only bangs super models..i guess those tapes need to be questioned. He's on the 50th Anniversary issue of GQ this month.
