There's also a large amount of footage with Frank Zane training for the contest, but at the end in editing they removed it for the main "Arnie vs Ferrigno" drama.

All I heard about this was the producers George Butler and Charles Gaines were really kind of "sidetracked" by meeting Zane, and got into his intellectual talk, training, etc...
Then when the deadline to edit was up, they took the pressed the "easy button" and went MAINLY for the Arnie/Ferrigno storyline!

Even early on Arnold had great quads. It's just that they would shrink fast when he was out of training. Here, at just 20 yrs old, he beats the legendary vet in the quad department.

Bottom shot here cropped from one with lou and serge arnold pisses over todays champ its not even funny. Midsection is small and tight, his lats insert so low, thickness heath can only dream about. Phil looks like a marshmallow in comparison.
