He beat him in AAU(nothing to do with Weiders) and would have beaten him in NABBA too in 71 if it wasn't for the Weiders that banned him from competing in NABBA that year. Instead Bill Pearl beat Sergio at the Universe(again,nothing to do with Weders).So your arguments are invalid. Nothing was scripted, Arnold just was the better bodybuider. He reighned supreme in NABBA before Joe Weider to bring him in the USA. He never lost a pro show outside of the IFBB winning in both NABBA and AAU. Weider wanted him because he saw his potential,both on and off the stage.

They screwed over Serge at the 75 O from what I read. This from another forum.

he fell out with the Weiders after 75 and began his own federation, WABBA but still was a NABBA Mr Universe 1976 and WBBG Mr World 1977 and Runner up Olympia to Arnold, he did alot of work behind the scenes at IFBB from 1970-1975 as a Vice President to Weider, not many people knew that, but they screwed him in 75 telling him he could not compete until the night before, so his prep was off. They would always play mind games on people to give Arnold an advantage, also they wanted a clear victory for the film Pumping Iron.

Serge is one of my favourite bodybuilders, very aesthetic and pleasing physique. But look at the comparison photos from 1975. His legs and back couldn't compare to Arnold's. Phenomenal chest and abs though.

Serge was not allowed to compete in the 1975 until the night before. Listen I'm not trying to rain on the Arnold parade in total. Arnold was an amazing bodybuilder and successful at pretty much anything he wanted to achieve. I have much respect for all of that. I like his build he achieved his movies etc. I just feel the need to show the chinks in his armour to those that worship him sooo much that they fail to see his flawed. That he was not perfect and, that there where some underhanded deals going on to get him to the top. Screwing over people all along the way.

arnold is not perfect. no one is. he beat the best. at their best. period. of course some will say that he had help. it was rigged. etc. maybe. but doubtful. he lost to zane( ifbb) when he first got here!!! he lost to sergio in first olympia( ifbb) and he also lost to another guy whos name escapes me right now. remember its up to the judges whos body do THEY think is better. do politics play a role? maybe. its a sport ( or used to be anyways) whos the best to represent the sport. who has the best build that will SELL. why doesnt anyone mention danny padilla and his not able to compete at the 75 universe? they pulled him at the last minute to allow katz to enter heavyweight so the film pumping iron would have a plot( kinda) but anyways arnold was and is and probably will always be the best bodybuilder ever!!! he came along at the right time . in the sports infancy and help propel it to where it is now. its just to bad the sport has taken a turn for the worse.

that another guy is.. Chester "Chet" Yorton. Mr America and Mr Universe. Pretty known bodybuilder for those who do not know.
