Chubby is a relative term. Regardless of the times, your average man takes whatever sex he can get. Plenty of thin girls back then who were considered hot. Twiggy's career peaked in the early 70's.
One "norm" I remember very clearly from back then was bra-less women. It was part of women's lib movement. Big nipples poking through tight t-shirts of almost every young woman I saw. Almost no women below age 40 wore a bra. Boing!
