ridiculous biceps. not many people have biceps peaks that are higher than their deltoids when doing the fdb, no matter how big they are (look through some pics)

Good pick up - may very well be. I've compared the original (below) to the potentially photoshopped one and there isn't much difference, if any. All that I could notice was a tiny bit of biceps and lats size, with a tiny bit shaved off the waistline, but that could simply be a slight difference in composition, not necessarily meaning it's photoshopped.

Below the original is one more from the same shoot in 1977.

I wonder how he looks from 76 to 1980

retired - i assume he came off all the goodies - his skin must have been loose and lacked that 3D look?

i think i read in this thread or the 1980 thread his skin was stretched from being so big

any notes or thoughts on how he looked between retirement and 1980

Would have liked to have seen him come out of retirement around 85 or so. Imagine if he used what Stallone used around the filming of Rocky 4? Arnold + Parabolan would have been a nightmare for Lee Haney.

I am not a chemist - but seems like the PEDs arnold used in the 1970s were not the hardening agents the were later more common (Para, winny etc)

He still looked pretty good in 1976-1977, he guest posed at a lot of shows in '76 weighing about 210. In 1978, he started to look leaner and smaller (look at the movie "The Villain") but by 1979, he was really small. He was running a lot that year and he grew his hair long in preparation for the first Conan movie. I think he even ran a marathon in Hawaii that year. In 1980, he started training more regular again and he looked like a bodybuilder for the "Jayne Mansfield Movie" in the spring and then, of course, the Mr. Olympia in the fall.
