I'm not surprised she didn't read the article and think that's par for the course for Sarah Palin. I do think that this is something that happens fairly frequently though, and not just from Palin, or from the right. Something is said, someone is offended and, all of a sudden, attention whores jump into the fray in an effort to remain relevant.
What I do find funny, however, is that Sarah Palin seems to think that the reaction against him, somehow, violated his right to speak freely. And nobody, at least as far as I know, has challenged her on this and asked her "what are you talking about? The government didn't violate the duck guy's 1st Amendment rights, and no agent of the Government did either. The 1st Amendment is a shield against the Government and the Government only. It doesn't shield you from criticism from other private actors. After all, they have a 1st Amendment too, no?
