we are= assuming a lot here but it would explain his confused sexual identity and moral vacuousness as well
That = true.
Debussey's impressions comes from all the tiny clues he gives off. Like the way he carried his BB prize in the airport in that MDTV video (see link below), the way he appeared in the resturant in that interview when he bought a ton of food, his mannerisms when faced with criticism (like when Dave Palumbo commented on the piss-smell in the elevator in his former appartment, an earlier video) and so on.
His whole persona has many traits normally only found in kids and young people.
He seems completely unaware of many of the norms in society, the little things most of us know. He carried his trophy like a 5 year old dork in the airport, just like the kid in kindergarden who's both stupid yet always happy and always getting beat up.
Did you see him when that woman in the airport asked for an autograph for her son? He looked emberassed, uncomfortable and like he felt completely out of control.
You can find it all in this video:
http://mdtv.musculardevelopment.com/content/view/1960/164/ -> Pay attention from 00:48 in this video. (especially at 01:18). He looks like he is about to die. Is this how a mature and confident person would act?
He strikes Debussey as the kind of insecure person that you could walk right over if you wanted (not physically).
