Interesting how the media determines what we talk about.  Two animals arrested on the same day.  One story remains one of the lead stories on CNN, while this one is somewhere on the back pages.  Perhaps it's because a white guy murdering his white wife and three kids isn't as sexy as a black married cop murdering his white pregnant girlfriend and their unborn child?

JOLIET, Ill. —  A suburban Chicago man accused of killing his wife and children was due in court on Monday to face extradition proceedings.

Christopher Vaughn of Oswego was in a jail in Missouri, where he was arrested in the deaths of his wife, Kimberly Vaughn, and the couple's three young children.

His lawyer said the 32-year-old was expected to fight extradition to Illinois.

But Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow says his office will spare no expense to get Vaughn back to Illinois as quickly as possible to face murder charges.

Missouri authorities arrested Vaughn early yesterday at a funeral home near St. Louis just before the start of funeral services for his wife and children.

The charges come after the four bodies were found on June 14th in the family S-U-V parked on a service road near Channahon, about 20 miles south of Oswego.

It's all about which story will yield the bigger ratings.  The media will swear up and down that it does not participate in race-bating at the expense of true journalism, yet here are statistics like this staring us right in the face.

It's got nothing to do with the fact that a Police Officer, (you know, those put in charge of enforcing the laws of the land) killed a woman pregnant with his child while he is married to another woman.
