it's crazy! ........(i hate the whole "ripped/shredded glutes" thing......guys in thongs is just wrong/gay)
bloated/distended guts..synthol........ins ulin......emphasis on extreme conditioning over everything else = the downfall of modern day bodybuilding

no young guys (kids) want to look like "todays bodybuilders" (but in the early 1990's everyone wanted to be a bodybuilder (look like shawn ray,kevin levrone,flex wheeler,chris cormier,mike matarazzo,paul demayo,achim albrect,.........the kind of body guys respect and girls drool over)

Thanks for the candid response, Big Mike. Do you think physiques will return to less bloated/syntholized levels? Any young guy who wants to become a pro bodybuilder nowadays has to practically piss out his kidneys just to get anywhere in the amateur ranks!

I hope they do! (and i am "encouraged" by New pros like Evan Centopani,the "Return" of Richard Jones,etc etc)
while i am a fan of "the mass freaks" even i think it has gotten out of hand (i prefered Jay Cutlers physique many years ago at a lighter bodyweight)
Phil Heath is also promising (make a great "MR O" imo)
Dennis Wolf as well
in the 1990s a guy competing onstage at 240 lbs was considered "huge" "a freak" ...(and these were some 6 ft tall guys like gary strydom) now you got guys at local shows weighing onstage at 250 lbs at 5 ft 8..... 5 ft 9 /...i have seen many guys ruin a great physique chasing "mass" (mass just for mass's sake means nothing)
let's get back to "mass with class"

Big Mike, what is your opinion on the new "bikini" divisions in female contests? Do you think they detract from the "figure" portion of the show? Do you think it is degrading to women (particularly as "athletes") to have them parade in bikinis and heels and be objectified as such?

It's just going to make an otherwise long boring show (and let's face it only "hardcore" fans or people with loved ones/relatives in the show can sit thru 5-6 hours of "routines"...........even longer/more boring!
plus is kinna an "insult" IMO to all the hardworking Fitness and Figure Athletes!
