i've never been the boss of a plant and i dont think you have been either

i will be, i am in that part of the plant that's closing. I could ask to be moved  to the part that's still open -but who knows for how long- being still young and "interesting" to the managing staff and having developed good ties with my direct superior, but i would have to take a pay cut and work at night, have to create and defend my place in a new team... To be honest I dont give much of a fuck at the moment, have no precise idea of what i ll do next. I'm kind of stun right now, not too stressed cause house is paid for but still we ll have to develop a new plan with the wife.

oh I can imagine it happens but on a much smaller scale compared to places like brazil, mexico, etc. Random business and wealthy people get kidnapped for ransoms...

My point was that when poverty rises it creates an unsafe/high crime environments to live in. You can buy your home far away from the poor crime infested areas but you will have some sort of interaction with them on a day to day basis i.e getting to and from work, school, etc.

what im seeing here in french canada is old boomers dying rapidly and third worlders buying their houses. The cream of the crop third worlders, sometimes whole families or several families buy themselves a house and voila, you have africans coming straight out of africa in a nice upper middle class neighborhood. Most are atholic christians but dont integrate, assimilate with the whiteys, they stick with their owns, have their owns churchs. We also have tons of south americans, colmobians etc doing the same. Old people die, they didnt have many kids, they re replaced by third worlders, as simple as that. That s why the government imports tons of immigrants in canada in the first place.

we are considering moving in the country with wife, sell our current suburb house to buy a little farm with lots of land and stick with that for the remaining of our lives. She ll keep going to town for her part time job and ill take care of farmland. We just see no point living in big towns or cities anymore. we have seen pretty much everything there is to see and know about them. Staying there is  just asking for more useless pointless stress.

thats not just quebec its all over the place, immigrants are overflowing the bigger cities into the smaller towns and rural areas , they'll work longer hours and for much less money.

Don't know where you live but in Canada the wops were treated as third class citizens when they migrated. I grew up in an italian neighborhood and none of them consider themselves "white".
