I'll never make fun of the Pats drafting ANYBODY from UM again!

Pats and Ravens are great in the draft.

I wish Detroit had more drafts like this.

Terrence Cody needs to shed some weight though and with Halata on the Line....Good God!!

I would love to see Halata and Terrence Cody fall on Big Ben!!

Ben would see how it feels to be raped then.  :D

Pats fucked cleaned up this year...and netted a second rounder for next year. Coupled with their own picks and Oaklands picks, they are set up to do the same next year, too.

I think the Ravens cleaned up pretty good, too in this year's draft. Landed two 1st round graded prospects in Kimble and Cody in the 2nd round.

Picked up two really good tight ends that could push Todd Heap for playing time, too.

For not having a 1st rounder this year, I think the Ravens did pretty damn good.

We won't know for about three years how anyone really did.  Remember the 05 draft?  Alex Smith first overall.  Aaron Rodgers late in the first.  Roddy White and Vicent Jackson drafted after Troy Williamson, Mike Williams, and Matt Jones.

if i remember correctly, weatherspoon was still on the board.

you could argue jpp has a higher ceiling than weatherspoon, but mlb was a glaring need for this team. Im not sure the defense is good enough to draft what essentially is a development project in jpp, that high in the 1st round.

i think weatherspoon could have been an instant impact guy.

I was hoping they took Weatherspoon or Spikes in the second but he didn't get by the Pats.

The Giants had Mcclain in their heart and when he was nabbed,  it changed everything!   No one though the Raiders would get him...I think!

That was my fav pick of the Pats draft. Spikes is going to be a beast next to Mayo.

I would have been happy with either one, but Mays filled a bigger need.  Mays isn't just a combine stud.  I think he led his team in tackles this past season.  Players who are just combine studs don't produce in college.  Mays isn't in that category.  I think he'll be a very good SS.

I also like the FA signing of Leroy Vann.  I never watched him play, but this kid has tremendous football speed.  Could be a very good return man.

That's true. He also played with three NFL caliber lb's + dlmen rushing the passer in front of him at USC.

I have to argue that production in college does not always = good player. Look at Mcfadden, Russel and many others. It's a mix of production, smarts and physical tools - imo.

I'd have taken Gerhart over Mays. Mays is big and fast, but if you watch the db drills, he's not very impressive at all. I think Toby would have been the type of smash-mouth rb Singleterry could use all over the field.

I like the Vann move, he does look very explosive.

I wanted Dall to get Spikes tooo, but Sean Lee is pretty good.  The ACL is the only knock on HIM!

It was big news when his knee went out in 2008. He was praised for being a player coach that year...then came back   as a monster!  He's already listed as Brookings protege'!
