Obama:
1. His administration has produced a 'copy' of what they claim is a birth certificate from Hawaii
2. His administration has continually said that he was born in Hawaii.
3. The Honolulu Adviser published a birth announcement on 13 Aug. 1961 of the birth of a "son" on the 4th of August 1961.
4. Even if he was born in Hawaii, because his father was a citizen of Kenya, his offspring are also deemed to be Kenyan, per the British Nationality Act 1948.
5. Since Barry neither renounced his U.S. citizenship nor sworn an oath of allegiance to Kenya, his Kenyan citizenship automatically expired on Aug. 4,1982. So he becomes a citizen of his birth place.
That's what we know. Make your own conclusion, but either way, it could all be resolved if Barry would just produce it himself. Why won't he?

i love that it's being discussed.
My point is that for any candidate to remain 'viable' - and not have every mention of him in the media begin with "tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theorist", the politician needs to avoid these topics.
If trump's goal is to get into office, he needs to leave the issue alone. If his goal is to make headlines and garner ratings, he's doing great with the birther stuff.
See, 33, you get this mixed up. I believe the repubs should be doing a congressional investigation into the birth cert issue - OR make obama veto a bill requiring it for a 2012 run ;)
But I'm also able to separate my personal beliefs from a discussion on how being a public birther affects trump's electability. see the diff?

“Of course I’d release it. In two seconds I’d release it. If I decide to run, I’ll absolutely release it,” Donald Trump said in an interview with The Daily Caller Thursday, referring to his own birth certificate. “I have it right on my desk. I have it right here, right now, right this minute. I am literally looking at it. Because, based on this I said, ‘do me a favor, get me my birth certificate.’ I have my original birth certificate right here.”
Donald Trump has been thinking a lot about birth certificates lately. Indeed, he has made questions about Barack Obama’s birth certificate a pivotal part of his bid for the Republican presidential nomination. And it appears to be working. One recent poll has Trump running fifth in the GOP field, just two points behind former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
“There’s a very clear niche in the Republican primary,” said longtime political consultant Roger Stone. “It’s a brilliant base-building move. There’s a very active, fervent subset of voters interested in this.” Stone, who has worked for Trump in years past, says he has no paid role in Trump’s current campaign, though he does allow that the two continue to “talk politics from time to time.”
Republican pollster John McLaughlin agrees that Trump’s remarks may be part of a larger, and potentially effective, campaign strategy. “Just like Obama won the nomination as the most anti-Bush candidate, the Republican nomination is going to be won by the most anti-Obama candidate,” McLaughlin said. “He’s positioning himself to be the most aggressive candidate against Obama. If you want to win a primary that’s the way you win a primary.”
For his part, Trump denies that raising questions about Obama’s birth certificate has anything to do with his own political ambitions. “No. Not at all. Not at all,” he said.
With that said, Trump launches into a passionate and detailed discussion of the subject. “We’ve studied it very closely. His family doesn’t even know what hospital he was born in. You know that, right? Do you know that? This is all fact. This is all in the records.”
The publicly-released records of Obama’s birth include a “short-form” certification of live birth created in 2007, a document adequate to apply for a U.S. passport. Yet, as Trump points out, Obama has never released his hospital-produced, “long form” birth certificate. “Here’s the thing: why doesn’t he release his birth certificate?” Trump asked. “If they have it, why don’t they release it?”
Asked if he believes Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961, as contemporaneous newspaper announcements suggest, Trump repeated the same line several times: “I want to see his birth certificate.”
Told that the current governor of Hawaii, Democrat Neil Abercrombie, has claimed he remembers Obama’s birth, Trump scoffed. “Well, I think it’s pretty unusual that … a governor currently sitting is going to think back to 50 years and say ‘I remember when he was born.’ Pretty unusual, right? He must have a pretty good memory.”
“I hope he was born in this country,” Trump said. “But the word ‘hope’ is not good enough because if he’s president, he has to be born in the country.”

I think Donald is getting his kicks in now so he gans cred with the hardcore priary GOP base voter since he needs to get the nominaton first. Said he wont run third party.
If he can peel off the palin and hardcore obama-hater voters - he can roll through the primaries. Then he can shift back to jobs, oil, respect etc and then really steam roll obama.

I think the birther thing will backfire. Its beneath a potential presidential candidate to keep bringing it up. The majority of the media machine in this country is in the tank for Osama. Continually bringing up the birther issue will only result in a heap of negative attention being placed on the candidate and the GOP at large.
HOWEVER...
The double standard that some of you apply to Osama is unreal. As I said in a prior thread, no public official in the United States on any level-- Fed, State or local-- has spent more money or more time trying to shield their background from the public. NONE. How is it that Osama gets away with this garbage and you douchebags let him off the hook? If GW Bush forged his mothers signature for a library card you nitwits would have called for his impeachment. Osama has multiple social security numbers, a birth certificate that nobody can find, all of his college and law school records are sealed and you morons dismiss those who question why as "extremists".

Donald Trump’s calls this week for President Barack Obama to release his birth certificate prompted negative reactions from pundits who would like to turn the tables on Trump and say, “You’re fired.”
However, Trump’s comments, made most recently in an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, also garnered support from those who wonder why Obama has not supplied documentation of where he was born.
Trump rekindled the longtime controversy Wednesday on ABC’s “The View” when he said Obama was “probably” born in the United States, but he wants the president to prove it with a birth certificate.
As for the critics, Brian Lowry of Variety got personal. “More than anything, Trump looks like a buffoon — an egomaniac hopelessly addicted to the spotlight, floating the prospect of a presidential run to a gullible media to boost interest in himself and ‘Celebrity Apprentice,’" Lowry wrote on the magazine’s website.
“Moreover, he seems in complete denial about the fact that his NBC show crested some time ago. Seriously, 8 million viewers or so is ‘through the roof?’ Only if the ceiling is about three inches above your head.”
David Weigel of Slate magazine took up Trump’s challenge to show him a photo of Obama as a child. “I've seen 14-year-old,” Trump said. “I've seen 13-year-old. I haven't seen early pictures." Weigel’s column includes a photo of Obama as a child that appeared on the cover of Time magazine in 2008.

Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie, a friend of Obama's parents in Hawaii who said he remembers when the future president was born, first vowed to produce an original copy of the president's birth certificate this year.

GW - if you listen to the clip i posted with Tom Fife - he says the russian lady told him bama was born in Washington. there is a thery that Bama was born in Washington and not Hawaii since his mother was cited in Seattle at the time o other business.
Some also theorize that it listsa different father on the BC.

Trump is now 'really concerned' about Obama's birthplace

(CNN) – He off-handedly questioned President Obama's birthplace last week – a comment that drew strong rebukes from some quarters - but now business mogul Donald Trump says he's more concerned than ever that the president was, in fact, not born in the United States.
Trump – who, however improbably, claims to be considering a presidential bid – said that since his first public statement on the issue last week, "a lot of facts are emerging" that are making him question more seriously where Obama was born.
"I am really concerned," Trump said during an appearance on Fox News. "You have no doctors, you have no nurses … that remember."
"I brought it up just routinely, and all of the sudden a lot of facts are emerging, and I am starting to wonder myself whether he was born in this country," he exclaimed.
In an interview with ABC last week, Trump claimed that nobody remembered Obama as a child in Hawaii – a statement that was categorically false. His kindergarten teachers and others have previously given interviews with local Hawaii papers detailing their memory of Obama at that time.
Trump did not repeat that claim Monday, but brushed off past statements from current Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie that he remembers Obama being born.
"I doubt it," Trump said of Abercrombie's contentions. "I think this guy should be investigated. He remembers when Obama was born? Give me a break. He's just trying to do something for his party."
In 2008, the Obama campaign produced a certification of live birth that reports his birthplace as Honolulu, Hawaii. He attended kindergarten there before moving to Jakarta, Indonesia with his stepfather at age six. Trump, like others who question the president's birth place, is not satisfied with the certification of live birth.
"They give you a certificate of live birth, which anybody can get. Just walk into the hospital and you get a certificate of live birth," he said. "It's not even signed by people."
And one more thing that irks Trump - using "birthers" to describe those who continue to press this issue:
"I don't like the term birthers. I think it's unfair to them. These are people that want to see a birth certificate. They want to know the president was born here."

I will acknowledge that Obama is hiding his academic information and i believe it's because it's not as high a standard as many would claim it to be. He's in a lose/lose in that regard. If it's even the slightest bit left leaning or controversial he'll be torn to shreds and he knows it. That is what should be focused on, not this whole birth certificate nonsense.
