6:45 in High School.

Last time I ran for distance I did 2 miles cross-country in 16 mins.

Ever since I could remember a 6 minute mile was the time most teams were looking at as the time you should run a mile in.  Anyone who could run anywhere near 5 minutes was elite.  I was never into running even when I was skinny in high school.  I was quick for 10 yards and that was it.  I could run with the batter to first base in full catchers gear though.  I even had a couple stolen bases just because I was quick and could read a pitcher.  But long distance running was something I ranked last in.

ok with the extra metres i'd be looking at a 5min mile.... its not exactly mind boggling. For people that run athletically several times a week you would expect them to be at that level.

Having muscle and running is a whole other story as opposed to someone skinny not carrying any. Back in 8th grade i wasnt even in great shape and ran a 5:50 Mile at like 130lbs. This wasn't even top 5 in my class.  Now im in much better shape and run 3 times a week and can't even break 6:30 at 5'8 205 due to the extra muscle on my frame. True way to mesh weightlifting and athletics is to get someone who can run a great mile time and benchpress/squat/deadlift a lot of weight. Best of both worlds.

So I guess my 5 min mile and 365 bench press would put me in the super elite category  8)

What kind of times can decathletes run the mile in? My guess is that very few of them can break 5 min, and remember, they are world-class athletes.

also keep in mind...the ones that can run a 5 min flat mile have no muscle to speak of...therefore someone claiming to run the mile in 5 flat while also claiming to throw around some serious weight is either A)one of the greatest athletes on earth or B)lying there ass off...

The actually don't run a mile in the decathlon, they do a 1500 m (so it's a little shorter).  The best decathlon 1500 m is 3:58 (a mile at that pace would be 4:14).  The 1500 m times at the latest Olympics ranged from 5:20 to 4:26.  5:20 would be a 5:41 mile which is pretty bad for a world-class athlete.

It would put you in the 'bullshit' or on a bicycle category.

Prob like 6:30 or so.  Just got out of the Marines, my 3 mile time was around 21 min.  For the CFT we had to do an 880m run in boots an utes, ran that in 2:45. 5'11" 185lbs, I'll be 29 next July.

So you didn't actually see Kendrick give Dawson the order to give Santiago a Code red?

Remember the last time I got called for bullshit..... My bench press and I posted a vid of my skinny twink ass pumping out a 365 like it was nothing.

Do I have to post a vid of me running round a track???

Bear in mind I was a semi pro rugby player for a couple of years.
